Posted September 30, 201015 yr comment_5456438 This is the best Rogers singles match so far aside from maybe the Roadkill match from Halloween Stamford show. For that reason I am nominating it despite it's relative brevity. I thought the spot with Rogers taking the flagpole to the back and then getting dragged through the ropes and dropped awkwardly face first on the railing was sick. Axl/Balls come out and bust open Guido and chase off him and Rich to make it one on one. Tracy dominates with his kicks but can't put Rogers away. Rogers "big" offense really wasn't "big" by this point, but I thought it looked good and worked well for nearfalls. I liked the finish with Smothers going for a front kick, Rogers ducking, hooking Tamikaze, Smothers nut shot to break the move, and then a pumphandle slam for a relatively clean Smothers finish.
December 1, 201014 yr comment_5458961 Tracy Smothers vs. Tommy Rogers (8/29/98) Balls & Axl are at ringside to counter the FBI and this had some pretty good heat with a motivated Rogers going toe to toe with Smothers. The guys on the floor would brawl early on with Guido taking a sick chairshot and they would all run to the back. Both men looked good here with some really damn good punches being thrown at a fast pace. I liked the finishing sequence and this was a really fun sprint. This moves forward.
December 6, 201014 yr comment_5459846 Tracy Smothers vs. Tommy Rogers (ECW TV 1998 18) - Really fun sprint but the match really took a backseat to the return of Axl Rotten. I sorta wished I could see a Fancam where they get a good 10-12 minutes to do their thing with just the FBI working ringside. I can pass on this since there are so many better Smothers matches out there.
