Posted October 13, 201014 yr comment_5457178 Terry Funk/Baba vs. Singh/Ueda - The highlight was a bloody Terry winging punches on Ueda. But this featured the usual dull work and chaotic non-finish I've come to expect from Singh and Ueda. Jumbo vs. Bockwinkel - They worked this similarly to their 1984 matches. Bockwinkel used a keylock to control the early minutes. Jumbo eventually worked to his feet and turned the tide with a jumping knee. He then used his high-impact offense to keep Bockwinkel on the run through the middle section. The threat brought out the brawler in Bockwinkel, who landed some really heavy shots on Jumbo. Jumbo eventually rallied, though the crowd didn't respond the way one would've liked. Bockwinkel ultimately decked the ref after Jumbo ducked a punch. That set up a double-cross ending where Jumbo appeared to win clean with a figure four but in fact, the ref DQed Bockwinkel and he kept his title. Given some sluggish spots, the blah crowd and the similarities to their better 1984 matches, I don't feel compelled to nominate this.
