They went especially nuts when he nailed two enzuigiris to set up a nearfall in the last seconds. Brody actually did a nice job of selling that he was rattled. He caught Tenryu in a roll-up for the pin and got the hell out of there before the upstart could land any more blows. It came off as a real moral victory for the up-and-comer. I decided against nominating, because the body of the match was so one-sided. But they got the reaction they were going for, and this was certainly a good choice for Will's Tenryu set. Nikolai Volkoff/Machine vs. Dory Funk Jr/Jumbo Tsuruta (11/2/82) - Dory and Volkoff carried most of the action which wasn't a good thing. Brody ultimately ran in to attack Baba and Dory, so the match felt like a set-up more than anything noteworthy on its own. Jimmy Snuka vs. Bruiser Brody (11/2/82) - This picked up right where the last match left off. Snuka ran in to deck Brody with a chair and seize the early advantage. Brody eventually cut him off, of course, and bloodied him with a series of big boots. But then Jumbo ran in to attack Brody. Again, this didn't feel like a complete match. At least it featured some wild action. Harley Race vs. Giant Baba (11/2/82) - Already reviewed.
