Posted October 19, 201014 yr comment_5457388 The early going of this was a cool change as they work an almost young lionsesque opening exchange sequence, with arm wringers and kip ups leading to a cool powerslam off of a criss cross exchange from Corino. Tajiri does a rope hanging spot using his belt after hitting the rewind elbow and then almost takes off Corino's head with a spinkick coming off the rope. Corino goes to get a chair and bring it into the ring and Tajiri flip kicks it into Corino's face busting him open. Tajiri runs Corino face first into a chair on the floor and then brings the chair in the ring and hilariously tries to bump out the dent with his fist while Corino sells his ass off on the floor. God damn Corino takes a vicious looking tree of woe baseball slide with the chair here. Jesus fuck the headkicks in this are unbelievable. They do a series of reversals in the corner and Tajiri ends up taking a table bump off of a suplex for a nearfall. Tajiri goes for another rewind elbow and Corino hits him in the back with a chair. Tajiri crawls under the ring. Bionic elbow for a two count. Fisherman suplex for another nearfall. Tajiri comes back by grabbing Corino's nuts and then comes back with a super quick strike exchange. Corino ducks the mists and hits Lynn instead. Finish falls really flat but the body of this was really fucking good.
December 6, 201014 yr comment_5459850 Steve Corino vs. Tajiri (ECW on TNN 6/23/00) - Jerry Lynn’s the special ref. Damn, Tajiri is brutalizing him early on. Glad they didn’t cut to commercial around this time. That’s how you attack a cut… stomp on his face with a chair. I liked the match but didn’t care for all the extra stuff at the end. Man, that ending kind of sucked. Gotta go low-level on this one.
December 13, 201014 yr comment_5460296 "King of Old School" Steve Corino vs. Yoshihiro Tajiri (6/17/00) Cyrus kicks out the referee and appoints Jerry Lynn the referee. Tajiri's awesomeness is proven again here as he is now a babyface and his charisma is just as a great as a babyface as it was as a heel. The handspring kick into the chair which nails Corino in the face on the apron was a great spot and brought out the juice. Tajiri is ruthless working over the cut but Corino would make a spirited comeback which wouldn't last long until Tajiri went on a kicking spree then sprayed mist in Lynn's eyes by mistake. The finish was a tad overbooked but I didn't have a real problem with it and this moves forward.
