Cornette mid-ring promo from SMW tv setting up Thanksgiving Thunder. Cornette's Army is all there as well.

 

Thrasher v. Flash Flannagan

 

Really fun fast paced exchanges early that culminates with Flannagan hitting a pretty sweet springboard moonsault on the floor. Back in the ring and Thrasher wipes out the momentum with an equally sweet looking spinning powerslam. Thrasher is really unloading his offense out of Flash and almost kills him with a spike top rope frankensteiner. Flannagan end sup blocking a second attempt and hitting a top rope splash for the finish. Good match - just a hair short of a nomination.

 

Brad Armstrong/The Thugz v. The Heavenly Bodies/Robert Gibson

 

This was good stuff. Early exchanges with Brad and Pritchard showed some really awesome fire from both guys. Pritchard ends up getting caught in the babyface corner, but works his way out. They do some cool shit with Robert Gibson tagging in and trying to get cheapshots, but bailing out everytime the babyfaces hit even a single offensive move. Really love Tracy begging to get in while on the apron to beat Gibson's ass. Watching Gibson work cheapshots on the floor with Cornette's help was pretty wild. Brad FIP was actually really good as the heels just unloaded all of their offense on him, including some really cool stuff from the Bodies, and some strong heeling from Gibson. Hot tag brings the chaos and Brad Armstrong ends up brawling to the back with Terry Gordy. Smothers works a brief FIP and DWB comes in and tries to run off a string of offense. Pritchard loads up his boot and kicks Anthony in the head for the finish. This had the feel of a really special tv match and was worked really well.

Bob Armstrong promo about being new owner of USWA. The Bulleet accuses jerry Jarrett of stealing of the USWA's funds. And then tells him to put his house on the line if he wants a rematch.

 

Tracy Smothers promo. Smothers says he will never give PG-13 another tag title shot. PG-13 comes out and Ice starts shit talking his family members to goad him into a title shot. Smothers ends up taking a cup of water in the face and bumping huge for it.

Match barely starts when a huge fatass billed as the Smoky Mountain Massacre hits the ring and destroys Ice.

Buddy Landell promo saying that Jos Leduc won't be there and that he'll wrestle Cornette's Army by himself if he has to. The Bullet hits the ring and says he will find a partner for Budro.

 

The Wolfman v. Sgt. Rock

 

Rock is Miss Jackie. This is JIP with only the finish shown.

 

Brad Armstrong is announced as the new champion, but then it is announced that his opponent Terry Gordy isn't there and Brad is winning by forfeit. Brad starts to cut a promo with Cornette and Tommy Rich hit the ring. Rich challenges Brad to a title match.

 

Tommy Rich v. Brad Armstrong

 

This is JIP which pisses me off as the whole pre-match angle was shown in full. Brad is already working in peril by the time we get this and frankly what's shown is not favorable in any way. Finish is foreign object shot for the pin on Brad.

 

The Punisher/Tommy Rich v. Buddy Landell/The Bullet

 

The pop for the Bullet's "Bad To The Bone" theme was pretty great. JIP yet again. Really only the finish was shown. Blah.

 

Ricky Morton/The Thugz v. The Heavenly Bodies/Robert Gibson

 

Pre-match DWB brings out a guy in a blanket and tells Cornette to come over and reveal him. Cornette hits him with his racket instead and then Ricky Morton runs out and cleans house. Ricky ends up cutting a promo shitting on Robert and talking about how he had to carry him for fifteen years. Morton was really great in this, working teased dissension spots with Smothers, hitting a really sweet comeback rana, bumping big, et. Gibson ends up dropping the rope on a rope running spot and Smothers takes a huge bump to the floor where he gets worked over by the heels. Man Morton was great working the apron getting people fired up and Smothers was so fucking great as FIP here. Really loved Smothers reversing a double armhook and Gibson blindsiding him with a double axe off the top. Actually 95 Robert Gibson has been super impressive so far in general. Del Ray hit a swinging DDT and then went for a second, but Smothers shoved him off and made the leaping hot tag to Morton. Big brawl breaks out and Morton ends up hitting an atomic drop on the floor on Gibson and then beating him with the Cornette's racket. Cornette gets left alone and gets spanked with the racket by Morton. This was pretty awesome stuff.

 

The Heavenly Bodies/Robert Gibson v. The Thugz/Ricky Morton

 

Morton was the mystery behind the sheet on this show. Pretty sure this is the last match in SMW history. Morton cuts the same promo from the night before. This was good, but i thought a lot less good than the night before. The action wasn't as frantic, Morton didn't get as much time to shine, and though Smothers FIP was good it wasn't as good. Still this probably has to make the set as an EXTRA at worst. Post-match everyone excluding the Bodies takes turns beating the shit out of Cornette. EXTRA

 

End of the disc is a lengthy video tribute with clippings/pictures of SMW set to music.

Flash Flanagan vs. Thrasher (11/6/95)

 

Fine action here especially from Flash who looked really good here for his experience level. I especially liked his Asai Moonsault that looked all kinds of insane.

 

Robert Gibson & The Heavenly Bodies ("Gigolo" Jimmy del Ray & Dr. Tom Prichard) vs. Brad Armstrong & The Thugz ("Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony & "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers) (11/6/95)

 

Robert & The Bodies as a team is quite the sight. Brad & Prichard looked really good to start with some rapid exchanges before DWB would come in demanding that Robert come in the ring to face him but he would only come in when he could get shots in and when he took offense he would scurry to the corner immediately to tag out. Gibson also does the same with Smothers and it really makes him look like a chickenshit as the Bodies take all the offense while he picks his shots. Brad works FIP and takes some big offense from everyone including Sgt. Rock before getting the hot tag to Smothers who was all kinds of fired up as he was cleaning house. Gordy would come out and attacked Brad on the floor ending with them going to the back as Smothers gets worked over by the heels. DWB would get the tag and came in throwing bombs before getting kicked in the head by Doc's loaded boot for the win. I dug this a lot as everyone was really solid here and this match moves forward.

 

Brad Armstrong would come out for his match on 11/25/95 against Terry Gordy but Gordy has no-showed and Brad is then proclaimed the new SMW Heavyweight champion before Tommy Rich would show demanding a title shot.

What's wild about this is that we get the full pre-match angle but then the match is JIP to the heat section on Brad.

 

The Bullet & "Nature Boy" Buddy Landell vs. The Punisher & Tommy "Wildfire Rich (11/25/95)

 

The Bullet is subbing for the no-showing Jos LeDuc. This is JIP heavily which sucks.

 

Ricky Morton & The Thugz ("Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony & "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers) vs. Robert Gibson & The Heavenly Bodies ("Gigolo" Jimmy del Ray & Dr. Tom Prichard) (11/25/95)

 

Morton makes his return after a almost 4 month absence from the situation involving Smothers and their women. Morton was awesome cutting a promo on Gibson before the match then in the match he was just as great as he teased issues with Smothers before both attacking the Bodies and then when Smothers was working FIP he was on fire getting the crowd going from the apron. Smothers was great working FIP before making the hot tag to Morton who ran wild including nailing Gibson with the racket followed up by Cornette and the match was ruled a DDQ. This was pretty wild for what it was and this is the last great match in the history of the promotion so this is a easy nomination.

 

Then we get the rematch the next night on the actual last show in the history of the promotion and that match wasn't as good as the 11/25 but we need to put this on as a definite extra since this is the final match in SMW history. Cornette taking punishment from everyone was a fucking awesome way of ending the promotion.
