Chris Candido promo

Bobby Blaze promo

Bobby Blaze v. Chris Candido (Tar and Feather Match)

I continue to be impressed by Blaze. The early going is all quick spots, and Blaze really adds most of the sizzle. Really loved his leapfrog into an electric chair position and I got a kick out of him going for a cross armbreaker early as well. They end up doing a spot where Candido hits a front suplex onto the ropes and a few minutes later Blaze returns the favor and follows it up with a baseball slide and a big dive to the floor. Candido ends up taking over after whipping Blaze into the steel and they work a pretty basic heat segment. Really liked Blaze's first mini-flurry ending with a missed dropkick and boston crab from Candido as that is a logical spot that you don't often see anymore. Candido hits a bizarre looking inside out headbutt dive onto Blaze who was standing on the outside apron. Candido ends up getting caught coming off the top with a dropkick from Blaze. Blaze flurry is cut off by a neckbreaker. I should mention at this point that while the execution has been far from flawless, nothing has been botched and the solid structure really does make up for it. Northern Lights by Blaze but Candido just gets a foot on the rope. Blaze goes for a running flip into a top rope rana which they sort of botch, but Candido recovers by crotching himself on the top. Then Blaze goes to the top to hit a suplerplex but Candido hits his diving top rope powerbomb. Candido ends up taunting and Blaze and Blaze rolls to the floor. Blaze does a really great sell/bump combo as Candido forearms him in the face and Blaze flips over backwards and ends up tied up in the guardrail. Strange finish with Blaze going for a sunset flip and Candido reversing and holding the ropes for the finish. They roll the tarp, oil and feather pillow in the ring and then Sandy Scott comes out and demands the match be restarted. Candido tars and feathers Blaze anyhow, so Scott comes back out and fines Candido a thousand dollars. I enjoyed this, but there have been much better showings from both guys and I have a hard time believing this would hold up under scrutiny.

Jim Mitchell promo

Tim Horner v. Prince Kharis

The Kharis get up is comically shitty. This was terrible. Felt bad for Horner having to sell for this. Post-match DWB saves Horner from a mauling.

Kevin Sullivan promo

Bullet promo

Kevin Sullivan v. The Bullet (Four Corners Match)

Sullivan runs over and tosses powder into Bullet's eyes right out of the gate. Sullivan takes the ringbell and beats Bullet with it, then lays him on a table and whacks his leg with the timekeepers hammer. Bullet ends up crotching Sullivan. Killer Kyle ends up hitting the ring and ripping open the box with the Golden Spike in it. Armstrong gets a cheap pin. This stunk.

Rock N Roll Express promo

Jim Cornette promo. Moondogs are running around destroying the backstage area.

The Moondogs v. The Rock N Roll Express

Moondgos ambush the R N R's. They have the most insane assortment of weapons available including a gigantic wooden wheel and boards that almost immediately get broken. Sadly this match peaked early as the longer it went on the less wild it felt due in part to the fact that the shots really didn't look terribly vicious. Fun enough effort, but not really something I can vouch for. Post-match brawl is actually better than the match.

Brian Lee/Tammy Fytch promo

Dirty White Boy/Dirty White Girl promo

Dirty White Boy v. Brian Lee

This was a solid match. Lee gave us some big bumps and I thought he worked a pretty good heat section as well which was really enhanced by Anthony's bumping and selling. DWB's comeback was really hot as well. They end up doing a double headbump spot and Tammy tosses her purse in the ring. He uses the purse and the White Girl hits the ring and gets her man DQ'ed.

Bruise Brothers music video

Jim Cornette/Heavenly Bodies promo

The Heavenly Bodies v. The Bruise Brothers (Street Fight)

Del Ray takes a table bump about thirty seconds into this and then takes an insane headbump into a door with his head poking through. Naturally he is bleeding. They brawl to the back and Cornette climbs under the ring and starts throwing plunder around. Pretty stiff stop sign shot from one of the Bruise Brothers onto Del Ray. Pritchard gets juice to and it is NASTY. They briefly brawl of camera and The Bodies take control. Tables end up in the ring and they are tossing the Bruise Bros around who are now both bloody. Del Ray ends up moonsaulting the ref. Cornette takes a flip bump into a table. Eh, this kinda sucked the longer it went on.

This starts with Blaze & Candido cutting promos before their match.

Tar & Feather Match: Chris Candido vs. Bobby Blaze (11/28/93)

This was a good match but I liked the match 2 days earlier better.

Prince Kharis vs. "White Lightning" Tim Horner (11/28/93)

Darrin Van Horn aka Jim Mitchell cuts a promo before the match and Horner gets squashed again here.

Next we get promos by Kevin Sullivan & Bullet before

Singapore Spike Match: The Bullet vs. Kevin Sullivan (11/28/93)

This is also basically like their match from two days earlier just this time with the boxes in the corners. Killer Kyle interferes again here as well just like the other one.

Next we get promos by RnR Express & Cornette w/Moondogs.

Street Fight: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Moondogs (Spike & Spot) (11/28/93)

This started out strong with both teams beating on each other but this wasn't nearly as out of control as the match was two days earlier. The running theme of this show is this wasn't as strong as it was two days earlier in Knoxville and makes you wish they taped that show for a commercial release and not this one. The match basically would become brawling for the sake of brawling and it doesn't have the insanity feel like the other one.

Then we get promos by Lee/Tammy and DWB/DWG.

SMW Heavyweight Title: "Primetime" Brian Lee © vs. "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony (11/28/93)

Again another almost carbon copy of the Knoxville match with the same exact finish. Good match but not a nomination.

Next we get a video for the Bruise Brothers followed up with a promo by the Bodies. I so want a "DR. TOM PRICHARD" shirt.

Street Fight: The Bruise Brothers (Don & Ron Harris) vs. The Heavenly Bodies ("Gigolo" Jimmy del Ray & Dr. Tom Prichard) (11/28/93)

The Bruisers throw a table in the ring ASAP and Gigolo crushes it in seconds so this shit is on. Gigolo getting his head impaled through the broken table was an awesome spot with him juicing already. The best part about this match compared to the one two days earlier is we have a multi-camera shoot going on so we can follow all the action instead of being stationary. These guys brawl to the bathrooms as Corny goes under the ring throwing weapons into the ring. It's funny watching all these hardcore violent matches in SMW and remembering how much Corny despised ECW when this was just as violent as early ECW. Dr. Tom juices as he gets his ass kicked and this continues until the Bodies finally gets some control featuring Cornette getting hit by mistake by Gigolo and taking a bump on the ringside table. Bodies continue their onslaught here using all kinds of weapons and now the Bruisers are juicing. Great spot here with Gigolo missing a moonsault and hitting a standing Mark Curtis while Dr. Tom eats a piledriver by Ron. Corny then sprays a towel with ether and takes Ron down with it but Don comes in and throws Cornette into a table in the corner with him taking a nice flip bump. Don then gets the towel and puts out Dr. Tom before waking up Mark Curtis who counts out Dr. Tom for the win. I liked this way more than Dylan did as it was a very fun brawl with some great bumps and juice. This is a nomination to me.
