The playing of My Old Kentucky Home before the show starts is awesome. LANCE RUSSELL is with Les in the ring and that is awesome as well.

Mongolian Stomper vs. Rob Morgan (4/2/93)

Stomper wearing his IWE tracksuit coat to the ring is great. Morgan jumps Stomper as he gets in the ring but that wouldn't last long as Stomper precedes to beat the shit out of him.

Next we get a promo by Primetime about his upcoming Russian Roulette match with Sullivan then he picks out his number on the Russian Roulette board and picks the Singapore Spike match.

The Nightstalker vs. "White Lightning" Tim Horner (4/2/93)

Damn was Bryan Clarke a physical specimen here. Horner doesn't back down from Stalker and uses his quickness to keep himself away from being pounded on by Stalker at the start. Stalker gets some bodyslams in though and starts taunting the crowd so he eats a dropkick to the floor then tears up a pro-Horner sign. Stalker would soon regain control and looked green in his offense but he threw a really good dropkick for his size then followed it up with a big slingshot clothesline from the apron for a nearfall. Stalker then works a bearhug for a while before hitting a big clothesline for a nearfall. Stalker keeps up the pressure but Horner would fight back after getting his head bashed into the turnbuckle numerous times and gets some quick nearfalls. Horner would get the Weaver Lock a couple of times with Stalker breaking free each time and he went to finish him off with a diving elbow but Horner moved then got the Weaver Lock again with Stalker countering this time by dumping Horner over the top rope for yet another shitty finish. This was pretty decent considering Stalker's greenness but his athleticism was sound.

Next we get a promo by Sullivan about Primetime comparing what he is going to do with Lee to clubbing baby seals.

Singapore Spike Match: "Primetime" Brian Lee vs. Kevin Sullivan (4/2/93)

There are boxes in each corner but one of them has the spike and Horner/Stalker are handcuffed in the corners. This is a brawl at the bell as they go to the floor immediately with Sullivan throwing Lee into a table and using a chair before returning to the ring where he went for a box but Lee pulled him off. The battle went back to the floor where Sullivan continued his onslaught before he opened a box and found nothing so Lee came back with a chairshot and opened up a box of his own finding nothing before the battle went back to the floor. Sullivan uses hammers and whatever he could find to injure Lee inclduing pliers to the groin which was a great spot. Sullivan then opened up the 3rd box finding nothing so now it's a battle to get to the other box which is in the corner where Horner was at or so he thought but it was actually in the corner where Stalker was at. Lee finally makes a comeback but takes out Mark Curtis with a cross body block before Sullivan got the spike trying to use it on Sullivan. Lee then rolled up Sullivan as he was having an issue with Stalker over the spike so after Stalker was uncuffed which took longer than expected because the key wouldn't work so Sullivan improvised and used the chair on him before he finally got loose after they took the rope off the post. Cheap finish to the match to setup the post-match angle and with a match like this you would expect blood and violence and while Sullivan was violent it wasn't nearly enough as it should've been.

Smothers cuts a spirited promo on DWB next before we get clips of the feud with DWB cutting a promo in "New York" which is actually the woods and DWB even breaks out a fucking pistol to take out the "muggers." DWB then uses a chain on some flour, melon, pineapple, and a bottle of beer to show what he is going to do with Smothers. DWB's gimmick here is that he is a Yankee ashamed of the South. This is a definite extra.

Tennessee Chain Match for SMW Heavyweight Title: "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony © vs. "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers (4/2/93)

They did a great job here of building up the importance of this match saying this was the first Tennessee Chain match in 15 years. Smothers dominated early taking the battle to DWB in and outside the ring using the chain to choke DWB where he starts touching the turnbuckles and goes to three sides but stops to deliver more punishment. Smothers touches the buckles again but Ron Wright would break it up so Smothers went back to pounding on DWB choking him with the chain on the floor. Tracy then gets the mic and calls DWB a stinkin yankee and drops a leg right in his balls. Smothers again touches 3 corners choking DWB with the chain but again DWB fights back to stop him. Tracy would then go up top with DWB pulling the chain to crotch him on the turnbuckle and finally DWB will go on offense. DWB uses the chain himself and brings out the juice from Tracy then follows up nothing but shots with the chain as blood flows freely from Tracy's head. DWB then touches 3 corners but Tracy fights back like DWB did earlier although not enough as DWB kept attacking him. DWB then tied up Smothers' legs with the chain as he touched 3 corners again but Smothers was able to monkey flip him over to break the count. Smothers would keep fighting back but DWB is too fresh and again touches corners but Tracy would jump on his back before missing a splash in the corner. DWB again would choke Smothers with the chain before touching corners yet again with Tracy again jumping him after he touched 3. DWB answered back by throwing Tracy over the top rope where he hung with the chain but after coming back in the ring he would pull DWB off the top rope with the chain to start his comeback. Tracy starts teeing off on DWB who is now bleeding as the crowd goes nuts and he would use the chain to choke DWB as he goes around the ring to touch the corners but he changed his mind and carried him on his back to touch the 3rd corner but DWB's weight took him down. DWB then took the chain and dragged Tracy by the neck around the ring and both men touched the corners and after DWB would flip Smothers over his head he would touch the 4th corner to get the win. The crowd is apeshit as Tracy gets the belt and this was an awesome match. Slam dunk nomination.

Lance interviews Smothers afterwards with DWB coming in to smash a board over Tracy's head in a cool spot. Definite extra.

Next we get promos from the Studs (Fuller, Golden, & Dutch), Bodies (Lane, Prichard, Eaton, & Corny), then RnR & Arn. Great promos here and definite extra material.

Smoky Mountain Showdown: Arn Anderson & The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Heavenly Bodies ("Beautiful" Bobby Eaton, "Sweet" Stan Lane, & Dr. Tom Prichard) vs. The Stud Stable ("Luscious" Robert Fuller, "Gorgeous" Jimmy Golden, & "Dirty" Dutch Mantell) (4/2/93)

The crowd is crazy for this from the start and the rules are when one man gets pinned then the team is gone. All 9 men are brawling to start and the weapons are used immediately and there is so much going on that I'm not even going to try to describe it but it is complete and utter violence. Some highlights were Prichard being covered in blood as Eaton's pants come down showing his bare ass which was funny, Eaton then climbing up a basketball goal with Gibson climbing with him, & Corny being choked with the bullwhip. The Studs were predictably eliminated first so now the clutter isn't as much. Morton eating double Rocket Launchers one with Eaton and the other with Dr. Tom was a cool spot. Arn then broke out a fire extinguisher and sprayed the Bodies before NUKING the Bodies with DDT's as Morton brings the table to the ring where the Bodies all went into it with Cornette going into it for good measure. Gibson then locked on the figure-four on Corney but Dr. Tom loaded up his knee on the top rope and took out Gibson with a diving knee for the win. God damn this was an awesome brawl with all out action and violence. Slam dunk nomination.

Then we get a great promo by Corny afterwards with a bloody and battered Bodies.

Tim Horner v. The Nightstalker

This was better than it should have been. Horner hit some nice escapes and I really liked the spot with him trying a razzle dazzle hold exchange and Nightsalker bodyslamming him cockily only to eat a dropkick to the back sending him to the floor. Horner gets cut off with a turnbuckle smash of all things which he takes a nice bump for and Stalker hits his own dropick sending Horner to the floor followed by a slingshot clothesline. Horner did a good job selling underneath for the green as grass Stalker and the crowd was really into this. I was on the verge of tossing this on the dock as a nomination when the bullshit over the top dq finish hit. Still a pretty good match over all.

Kevin Sullivan promo was mildly amusing

Kevin Sullivan v. Brian Lee

With blood and a good finish I would have nominated this. Really fun out of control brawl. At one point the camera angle makes it look like Sullivan is stabbing him in the nuts. He also drops a ringbell on him and just generally looks like a lunatic here. But damn that fucking finish.

Tracy Smothers v. Dirty White Boy

This was really a brilliant gimmick match. I could see how people would argue that it went on a hair too long, but honestly the crowd stayed with them to the point where that feels like a total bullshit complaint. This had literally everything you would want from a chain match and then some. They bleed buckets, they do some really cute spots with the chain leading to big bumps, the tension of the four corners spots is great, the use of the chain as a weapon gives some great visuals, et. Loved the way DWB sold the chokejobs early as you could watch all the color pouring out of his face with the chain around his neck. Smothers was also great selling for DWB and his hopespots were really neat, using the chain as leverage, busting out a really believable and well timed monkey flip, and then the fucking awesome skin the cat out of the hanging comeback spot. The floatover finish was really well done too and got a great pop from the crowd. Really great match. Arguably the best SMW match of all time. Post match angle with DWB attacking him backstage was great too.

Studd Stable promo

Arn/RnR promo

Arn talking comparing the whole situation to a DUI is awesome.

Bodies/Eaton promo

All of the above should be a big EXTRA

Studd Stable v. Bodies/Eaton v. RnR/Arn

This was really awesome stuff. To an extent you get spoiled by the reckless prop use of ECW and other places, but if you can look beyond the relative lack of stiffness with some of the plunder, this is wild as hell and violent. Eaton really put in a big effort here and was willing to look the fool with the basketball goal and tire around his head spots. Pritchard bleeds like fucking crazy. Fucking crazy shit with trash all over the ring, and guys falling over themselves getting their asses kicked. Really fun to watch Dutch work here and the finish while a bit anti-climactic made a whole lot of sense. Just a super entertaining and wild mess of a match - but in a great way.
