Chris Candido promo

Well Dunn v. The Thrillseekers (Penalty Box Match)

On the one hand I was impressed at how calmly this was put together, how clean the spots were, how logical the work was. On the other hand this really moved to slow. The penalty box gimmick really didn't go anywhere (though it was used as an excuse for some mildly amusing spots with Mark Curtis being scammed by both teams) and the finish was totally out of blue and seemed super lame.

Chris Candido/Brian Lee/Tammy Fytch v. The Rock N Roll Express/Bambi

Ricky Morton was awfully good in this. Lots of cool back and fourth spots with Candido, some great selling, some good bumping, really solid looking punches, just a really great performance. I am really warming to Lee as well as he always bumps big which compensates for his questionable offense. Gibson was more dynamic than usual as well. Especially loved his opening exchange. Finish to this was cool as the babyfaces were all keeping the heels at bay while Morton rolled up Candido for the duke. This was more fun than anything else, but it was enjoyable.

The Funk Brothers v. The Armstrongs

This is the match that we have in two versions already. This is the third as this is a handheld.

Bruiser Bedlam v. Tracy Smothers (Street Fight)

Tracy utilizes the Confederate Flag like a champ here, beating Bedlam from pillar to post with it. Bedlam can't sell, but Tracy is so intense coming straight at him and rallying the crowd with every blow that you don't even notice. They end up destroying a bunch of shit ringside, knocking over a table or two, hitting each other with chairs, et. Cornette gets a lick in with the tennis racket that looks like it could have killed someone. Man Smothers is selling his ass off here and bumping with his whole body for every blow Bedlam throws. Seriously Smothers takes an unimaginably good bump off of a powder to the eyes spot. Then Bedlam gets a hammer handed to him from Cornette and he beats Smothers with it. Cool spot with Smothers reversing a bear hug into a belly to belly, but missing an elbow, only for Bedlam to miss one of his own. Smothers drops the straps on his overalls and fires up. Bedlam briefly takes over and goes for a top rope dive onto Smothers who is on a chair but smothers moves and rolls on top for the pin. This is the best Bedlam match I've ever seen and deserves to make the match. Post-match attack by Funk's and Cornette is just the icing on the cake.

Dirty White Boy v. Bruiser Bedlam (Cage Match)

Better than I was expecting. Anthony really busted his ass in this and tried super hard to make this a compelling match despite the fact that it was thrown together on the fly and clearly wasn't going long. Good effort.

Penalty Box Match: The Thrillseekers (Chris Jericho & Lance Storm) vs. Well Dunn (Timothy Well & Steven Dunn) (7/1/94)

This definitely isn't a WCCW penalty box match for sure and the way the match came off the box really wasn't a big part of the match. The commentary was also annoying as well.

The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) & Bambi vs. Chris Candido, "Primetime" Brian Lee, & Tammy Fytch (7/1/94)

Yay more mixed matches. Again the running commentary is annoying plus the dude on the camera is infatuated with Tammy so we get lots of shots of her as the match is going on. Morton & Candido were fun here but that's about it.

Dory & Terry Funk vs. Scott & Steve Armstrong (7/1/94)

I'll wait to watch the other versions of this.

Street Fight: "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers vs. Bruiser Bedlam (7/1/94)

Smothers wearing overalls here is awesome. Both men use weapons here in abundance to pound on each other and this is good stuff because it allows Bedlam to work a match where he doesn't have to wrestle. Smothers is really good here selling and bumping for Bedlam making him look like a killer along with taking shots from Corny. The commentary here featuring singing this time was obnoxious and was taking away from the match but Smothers was so good it overcame that distraction. Smothers dropping the straps and then firing away was great before Bedlam hits all chair missing a dive off the top for the win. This was the best Bedlam match maybe ever and deserves to go on at least as a low-end nomination.

Steel Cage Match: "Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony vs. Bruiser Bedlam (7/1/94)

Jake was supposed to work here but of course he no-showed so Bedlam did double duty. DWB put on a solid performance here under the circumstances.
