This is listed as a joint NWA/SMW show on the DVD but I am skeptical that this is just an NWA show with SMW talent.

Devon Storm v. Tracy Smothers

Short but fun. Storm takes his flip bump to the floor and almost dies on a wild moonsault that barely connects Tracy at all. Smothers wins with his diving jawjacker.

Tom Brandi v. Eddie Gilbert

Clearly not an SMW match but this was a super fun brawl that goes all over the Arena, sees some great heeling from Gilbert and a really awesome sell of a Gilbert punch by Brandi on the floor which I absolutely did not see coming. Gilbert steels the pin.

Chris Candido v. Al Snow

Mark Curtis is ref here and these guys may have both been SMW talents at this point. I think this may qualify as a SMW match?? Really fast paced back and fourth match. Really crazy to see a match with multiple deep impact german suplexes as you never see that anymore. Some blown shit, but I did think the finish was clever way to get Candido a win without Snow looking like shit. Too little selling for my taste ultimately but fun overall.

Jerry Lawler v. Dirty White Boy

This is Lawler playing heels so you get all the funny pre-match shit talk. On top of this Cornette is essentially managing Lawler and after a bunch of stalling shctick and Lawler claiming that Anthony is pulling his hair and tights they do a bit where Lawler and Corny try to expel Mark Curtis as ref. Lawler actually gets down on his hands and knees at one point and illustrates the difference between a fast count and a correct count which of course results in Lawler being subjected to some of his own medicine on the next two nearfall attempts. Then Cornette comes in the ring and attempts to ref which doesn't really work on any level. Corny and Lawler claim victory and start to leave but Curtis starts counting so the heels come back. Lawler starts in with the foreign object stuff. Good punches from Lawler who is mocking DWB and antagonizing fans. Lawler uses the racket and is walking around with racket "hidden" in his tights which is just ridiculous. DWB comes back and Lawler ends up getting DQ'ed when Corny comes in the ring. This was fun, but some of this wore thin and it was not a home run.

Osamu Nishimura v. Lightning ?

Clearly not an SMW match so I skipped over this.

Next match is a young Billy Kidman and Tony Rumble v. two guys I don't know. Another none SMW match even going by the Mark Curtis rule

Doink v. Scotty Flamingo

I didn't watch this now, but I'll watch it later. Random as fuck.

Tracy Smothers v. Eddie Gilbert

This is brawl but a ton of it is off camera. Gilbert trying to tie a bag over Smothers head seemed really phony and over the top here as well. Stupid ass double count finish from two refs.

Chris Candido v. Dirty White Boy

Candido works over DWB's leg and it goes out on a press attempt allowing him to advance to the finals.

The Rock N Roll Express v. The Gangstas

This is for the SMW tag belts so it is a definite SMW match. Camera angle is not very good at all though it does capture New Jack being his bombastic self after every spot which is really the best part of the early going. Really a non-finish. Eh.

Tracy Smothers v. Chris Candido

This was good - probably good enough to nominate - but I'm not going to because it was not as good as their best matches and the camera angle was really distracting to the point where I can't see this making the set despite it's quality. Might make a good EXTRA with Candido becoming NWA champ. EXTRA
