Re-watching some of Jamie Noble's indy run from 2005, and he had all kinds of fantastic matches.

 

That guy deserved a lot more than he ended up with.

He ended up with a job in WWE as an agent. That's pretty awesome.

When they repeat the same couple lines about a dozen times in the first couple minutes, you know they don't have anything. Sure enough a really generic worked shoot is 'proof' that WWE is ripping off a UK indy.

With all due respect Ditch I didnt get that at all, the video keeps and keeps building.

I'm sick & tired of the ridiculous "What?" chants in WWE. I realize they will never go away.

PWInsider is reporting that Trips wants to bring back the cruiserweight division with the thinking of keeping them separate from the heavies. Interesting.

 

Looks like they also want to rebuild the tag division, people seem to be so caught up in Vince having Lawler bury Otunga/Mr. Perfect Jr that they seem to be missing that it seemed to be done as part of the process, bury the last champs of the "old" tag team division to set up Kofi/Evan as the launch point for the new tag division. They picked the right crowd to do the change too, I haven't seen fans pop for a WWE tag title change like that in years.

I don't mind the What chants. Zero "what" chants at PWG on Saturday.

 

On the other hand, there are always lots of "woo!" calls when someone uses a chop. I don't mind the woo! when Ric uses a chop... but when everyone else does?

Yup, still ruining promos in 2011.

Someone needs to develop a promo style of talking super fast with no pauses to combat the "what?" chants.

They need to run a "What?" lottery. Pick one random person saying "What?" and stab them.

I love that there is different kind of Whats! To make them even more annoyingly pervasive:

 

- Comedy - Miz & R-Truth last night

- Predatory - An already rattled, nervous Nash last week

- Disinterested

It's just occurred to me that I've never seen Flair's 2nd WWF title win over Savage!

 

Anyone know any additional info about this? Why did they put the title back on Flair and from Savage? Was it just to transition to Bret? I've never quite understood the deal in late 92. Why would they put the title back on Flair if they knew he was going to be gone by 93? I think late 92 - mid93 was a weird time in general. A lot of transitions and changes. Last of the old guard finally leaving and people like Tatanka showing up.

NBC is developing a drama based on 1980s wrestling. I know Norman Lear was supposed to do a wrestling show years ago that never happened, but I figure with Bruckheimer producing, it has to at least get on the air, right? Hopefully the NBC/USA synergy doesn't lead to any WWE involvement.

The quality is absolutely horrible and I don't know where part 1 is, but on the positive side it's a decent match and the commentary by McMahon and Heenan is gold. Apparently it aired on Prime Time Wrestling and was on the tape 1992 Year in Review. I'm not sure if I had ever seen the match before either, maybe just clips.

 

As for Hart winning the title from Flair, all I know for sure is that as a teenage Hitman mark living in Calgary it was pretty cool opening the sports section of the Herald the next day and learning about the switch that way. (the only time I can recall the Herald reporting on wrestling--complete with a photo of the match no less--which was usually the exclusive domain of Calgary's other daily, the Sun)

The Lear show never got to the pilot stage so this is further along.

The "what" chants are learned behavior at this point. The old fans taught the new fans who will teach the next generation of fans, etc. It's never going away... ever.

The only thing that can make "what" chants worse is when the fans in the Impact Zone do them. I can hardly think of a purer combination of two of the worst things in existence. Except for maybe Juggalo Furries.

Please tell me you just made the Juggalo Furry thing up...
