According to our WWE sources, the following matches are also very likely to appear on the card:

■The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio

■Alberto Del Rio vs. Kofi Kingston

■Dolph Ziggler vs. Alex Riley

■Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes

■Daniel Bryan vs. Wade Barrett

Okay, I defended you before, but I have to take issue with this. You are pretending you have WWE sources when you don't.

He should be forced to source where he gets everything. This is ridiculous

So, anyone seen the Paul London & Tracey Smothers road trip shoot? Awesome as it looks like it'd be on paper?

- According to a shocking report, the planned main-event between The Rock vs. John Cena is in jeopardy. Reports indicate there is a powerful voce inside Titan Towers lobbying to cancel one of the biggest matches in WWE history. Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer broke the story on a very newsworthy podcast on his F4WOnline.com website. Meltzer says that there is one very influential voice trying to get the John Cena vs. The Rock match scrapped entirely off of WrestleMania 28. According to Meltz, the idea of canceling the match is not as inconceivable as you may think. Dave Meltzer reports that their WrestleMania 28 match may be in jeopardy as one high-ranking WWE employee with lots of influence is against the big showdown in Miami next year. While this official doesn’t want the match to happen, most feel that it still will take place

Was listening to this earlier today. The way Meltzer explained it, it sorta ALMOST kinda made sense. The reason being that this is even an issue is that if the WWE wants to keep Cena as the top babyface in the company for a long time to come and get him over with the male audiance, having him face someone who he's guaranteed to get booed out of the building against in the main event of the biggest show the company is likely to have had in many years probably isn't the best idea long term.

Kinda surprised that Dean Malenko is only 51. Guess he's one of those Arn Anderson types who looked like they were 50 even when they were 30.

As for the "powerful voice inside the company" trying to squash the Rock/Cena match: probably HHH, right? He's been said to be very dismissive of Rock in general, and it's worth noting that they never had another match together after their feud in 2000 ended (which just about coincides with Hunter's rise to power). Weird that the story would be so vague about this person's identity, since it doesn't seem like it's a secret within the office, hardly something you could blow a source's cover with.

Is it just Rock-Cena that's in jeopardy or are they talking about removing Rock from the show altogether? This company must HATE making money.

This might have been a legitimate concern in 2006. But that ship has long since sailed.

Those are valid points, but JESUS CHRIST!! That would be a disaster if they called it off. You just can't promise people something that big and go back on it. That's not even a swerve, it's just dishonest. That would be a shit-ton of bad will for them if they don't go through with the match.

The logic is that Rock/Cena can't have a good finish. Either Rock wins, which he shouldn't since he's not going to be around, or Cena wins, which the Miami crowd will hate.

There's also the thought that they should give the spot to a new star instead of someone from a previous era.

Will it really be a "Miami crowd," though? At this point, I think the only Wrestlemanias with any kind of local flavor are the MSG ones. Otherwise, it's like the Super Bowl where the host city is largely incidental. Besides, any crowd in the country would cheer for Rock over Cena.

Miami will be even more a Rock crowd than anywhere. I agree with the logic and don't think it was a good idea to tease or announce the match. But I think they have no choice but to deliver now, and it would be a horrible move to cancel it.

If they're ever going to do a heel turn, Cena going over and doing the turn at Mania is the chance to make it work. If not, it's a tough call, but not so much that they need to cancel the match.
