Mike Furnas v. Jeff Victory

Over before it starts.

Tracy Smothers v. Chris Candido (Ladder Match)

Pre-match Candido tries to get in a piggyback position on Curtis to just jump up and grab the check that is hanging above the ring. This is a sloppier and more reckless version of their normal match, but I mean that in the good way. There is no steel barricade so Smothers kick through the ropes spot is sold by Candido wrapping himself up in the rope divider and then selling it like he's being strangled to death. The ladder is insanely small here and almost looks wooden to the camera angle. They seem to overcompensate for the small ladder by taking big shots on it and taking huge bumps off of it, especially Candido's insane dive off through the ropes to the floor. Candido uses the ladder as tool to beat down Smothers and establish control, before taking another whacky pair of bumps, the first with the ladder falling on him and the second with him falling on the ladder. Candido just keeps taking bump after theatrical bump and it is really carries the match. Not to say Smothers is bad in this, but he's really just another prop for Chris to work off of. This is good enough to nominate and was a fun watch, but it's the first of their matches that didn't feel like it was essential for the set.

The Infernos v. The Thrillseekers

Boy this sucked. Neither team looked on time, the bumps didn't look good and the finish looked like utter shit. Just horrid.

Bob Armstrong v. Dick Murdoch/Jim Cornette

This was hard to get through. They work a really long side headlock sequence to start this and it's not done in a terribly compelling fashion. The fans were into it but realistically this just came off like two old timers killing time. Cornette takes a huge bump over a table in this and then Murdoch and the Bullet botch something so bad I can't even tell what it was supposed to be. Match gets better when it breaks out into a brawl and Murdoch starts dropping chairs on Armstrong's throat. This was almost made worth it by the finish where Corny pops Murdoch on accident and then Dick gets rolled up. But as a whole I didn't really care for this.

Dirty White Boy/Dirty White Girl v. Brian Lee/Tammy Fytch

Decent enough. The girls were an important part of this feud and they tried but they really sort of got in the way of this being a good match. Finish felt like a cheat too.

The Heavenly Bodies v. Rock N Roll Express (Iron Man Match)

I'm really torn on this. On the one hand this was interesting and ultimately fun to watch. On the other hand I thought the structure of this with the Bodies chasing the R N R's only to steal the win at the end was ass backwards. I also hated that the heels won all three of their falls by cheating as it really made them look bad. Seriously if you can't win a single clean fall in an hour what does that say about you as a team? The work in the match was solid. Pace was two low key for me as they never really seemed to "go up" in tempo even when they teased it. Having said that I liked a lot of the individual spots. Liked Morton in peril and enjoyed Gibson's big bump and his peril segment too. The three man rowboat segment with Corny getting caught up in it as well was also a neat spot. I also liked the double dropkick fall. This is a tough one. I'm going to nominate it on the low end and see what others think.

Mike Furnas vs. Jeff Victory (3/12/94)

Squash.

Ladder Match: Chris Candido vs. "Wild Eyed Southern Boy" Tracy Smothers (3/12/94)

The ladder being used here is hilarious as it's an old beatup wooden ladder. This is their usual formula match with a ladder mixed in but they do some different things some by design some not as at one point Candido accidentally choked himself with the security rope which was hilarious. The ladder spots were well done and were newish for the time as the HBK/Razor ladder match hadn't happened yet. The ladder tease spots were really fun with a really good finish. They have had better matches but this one is still really good and moves forward.

The Thrillseekers (Chris Jericho & Lance Storm) vs. The Infernos (3/12/94)

Thrillseekers looked good here.

Handicap Match: Bullet Bob Armstrong vs. "Capt. Redneck" Dick Murdoch & Jim Cornette (3/12/94)

Finally I get to Murdoch's stuff here. Bullet dancing with a middle aged woman at ringside was great. Bullet works a headlock early with Murdoch being fun selling it. There is a really screwed up atomic drop spot here that Murdoch sells like he just got a knife stuck up his ass taking the heat off of Bob and as this was going on, Corny distracted Mark Curtis allowing Murdoch to use a foreign object on Bob. Corny comes in now to get his offense since Bob is down with Bullet fighting back so Murdoch comes in to cut him off and then he went on offense. Murdoch throws some awesome punches here before Corny comes in for more with him dropping some forearms before missing a big elbow smash. Bullet then fires up and takes it to everyone before Corny missed a punch hitting Murdoch then Bullet smashed their heads together and pinned Corny for the win. Was this a great match nope but it was a blast and I'm pushing it forward.

"Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony & Dirty White Girl vs. "Primetime" Brian Lee & Tammy Fytch (3/12/94)

This was almost the same as the 3/10/94 match.

Marathon Match for the SMW Tag Titles: The Heavenly Bodies ("Gigolo" Jimmy del Ray & Dr. Tom Prichard) vs. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (3/12/94)

This is a 60:00 ironman style match and even with this they do a shitty finish at the end of the match but the work here was pretty stellar as both teams were awesome and up to the task to working this length of a match. Definite nomination.
