Posted November 8, 201014 yr comment_5458111 Pre-match Budro boots Corny from ringside. I thought the build in this was really good. The work was simple but early it was two guys trying to best each other on the mat and the work looked good. Then Budro started to subtly get a bit nastier. Brad does a really cool looking armdrag out of an armbar attempt and you can almost see Buddy say "fuck this nice guy shit." He ends up punching Brad square in the face later and man can Armstrong sell a punch. They do a really great strike exchange coming out of the corner that was stiff as fuck and Buddy starts complaining about Armstrong cheating which gives him another chance to punch Brad right in the mouth. Brad firing up and doing the double block of punches before laying in with some nice uppercuts was cool. He signals for a forearm but Buddy ducks and Curtis takes a bump. Corny out but he gets beatdown by Brad. Landell hits a sunset flip but Curtis sees the racket and DQ's him. Lamish finish aside this was a good match.
December 22, 201014 yr comment_5460865 I loved the work. Like Dylan said the work was simple, but it was really well executed and presented well. It had a 70's feel to it. Landell working Brad's arm was effective. Armstrong selling of the damaged limb was awesome. How Budro got nastier and nastier as the bout progressed was cool. That punch off the corner break that Landell threw and Brad sold was one of the great punces. With that said, the bout was being worked like they were at least going 20 if not 30. When it ended at 10 I was dissapointed. For me that kills it as a nomination. I want to see these guys go longer.
July 20, 201114 yr comment_5477283 SMW Heavyweight Title: "Nature Boy" Buddy Landell © vs. Brad Armstrong (8/10/95) Landell tells Corny that he doesn't need his help here and wants him to go to the back. Landell is starting his face turn so he isn't doing his normal schtick to start but after some really good back and forth action that sees Brad getting the best of Budro he would revert back to his old ways a little. Budro fires off some fucking great punches here and Brad is fun firing back with his own before we get a ref bump. Corny would come out now of course but Brad hits him with the russian legsweep sending him out of the ring with the racket laying in the ring. Landell would hit a sunset flip from the apron but as Mark Curtis counts he sees the racket and immediately calls for the DQ. The action here was good but the finish came really quick as it seemed like they were building it up and just came out of nowhere. Good match but not a nomination for that reason.
