Posted November 10, 201015 yr comment_5458177 This is the complete match that we only have clips from on the previous disc. Bundy throwing his weight around early and having Animal pinball for him was pretty cool. Hawk in and he gets treated the same way. Both Warriors being unable to slam Blackwell and selling their backs after attempting was pretty awesome. Totally bizarre off time criss cross spot with Hawk and Blackwell that just didn't look good at all. Watching Hawk in peril from Blackwell's splashes is almost surreal. Bundy goes FIP and is actually really good selling here. Animal's elbow looked good. Blackwell comes in off of a missed top rope spot and hits his huge powerslam for a good nearfall. Blackwell's turn to take a beating and his mannerisms are really great during that segment as the crowd heats up so much for every little gesture and goes apeshit when Animal slams him. I am really annoyed by the relative lack of tension on the hot tag that was well built to. Cool double avalanche by the faces. Ellering interferes and leads to the Warriors getting the pin. This is the best Warriors match I've seen so far and I thought Blackwell and Bundy looked good in this role so I will pass it along to others.
January 4, 201213 yr comment_5491683 AWA World Tag Titles: The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. Crusher Blackwell & King Kong Bundy (11/22/84) I always dug babyface Bundy and he makes a fun team with Blackwell plus Bundy has a history with the Roadies so they already have a blueprint of a match together. Bundy was fun using his power and brains to keep the Roadies at bay before bringing in Blackwell who is like a steamroller on offense. Hawk tries to slam Blackwell but he has no luck so Animal comes in and he doesn't fare much better and the fans are hot for the faces. Animal gets Blackwell up but he falls back on him for a nearfall and for well over 5 minutes the Roadies basically do nothing but take punishment from the faces which was odd at this time. Bundy would miss a diving elbow which would give the Roadies the window they needed to take control using their own power moves to take Bundy to the mat. Hawk would miss a diving punch off the middle rope allowing Bundy to get the hot tag to Blackwell at the 10 minute mark and he hits a powerslam on Animal for a nearfall as the place erupts but he would miss a running splash into the corner which allows the Roadies to take over again. I dug Hawk's ode to Jumbo running knee smash which caught Blackwell in the face and they were ruthless working Jerry over here. Jerry tries to fight back as the crowd goes nuts but Animal would come in and slammed Blackwell which got everyone cheering for a nearfall. Blackwell was really good here with his hope spots just standing there taking shots then hitting a bomb of his own before getting the hot tag to Bundy which leads to the 4-way brawl where they do a different criss cross spot leading to a double splash in the corner. Bundy would miss another one though hitting all corner and Hawk would fall on him for the 3 count. Very fun match here especially with the Roadies at this stage of their career and this moves forward.

Oh shit, Blackwell sends Hawk running too. And Hawk is frustrated when he can’t lift Blackwell. Animal lifts Blackwell but Jerry falls on top. Awesome stuff. I love comparing this to the High Flyers match because the Flyers got the better of the Roadies through keeping them grounded. Blackwell and Bundy frustrate them with their size. The Roadies are used to squashing dudes, not running up against mountains. When the Roadies finally take over, they employ the same ground strategy the Flyers used on them. Great. I don’t think this will rank high but I would like to see it on the set. Great fat dudes vs. roid rage matchup.
