Ron Garvin v. Greg Gagne

Garvin is heel here and that's really what makes the match. You've got Garvin going into his great boxing stance as a stooging spot rather than an "I'm going to fuck you up spot." You've got Garvin biting Gagne's head. You've got Garvin breaking Gagne holds by grabbing his throat. You've got Garvin working the fake leg injury gimmick off of a leap frog and then going to his tights and winning with a loaded fist punch. There were some stiff shots in this and I liked Gagne's deathlock spot too. I don't think this got enough time to really full develop and Gagne's terrible punches hurt this. If we were doing a Garvin retrospective this would make it, but I don't think it makes this set.

Ron Garvin v. Scott Steiner

Squash but a fun one. Steiner takes a huge bump, gets stiffed, takes a Garvin stomp and eats the big punch.

Ron Garvin v. Black Bart

This is in a World Class ring with Lowrance on commentary so I have no clue if it counts as an AWA match or not. Garvin punching Bart in the face, roughnecking him on the mat, and tying him up like a pretzel was pretty great. Bart comes back with a thumb to the throat. Really great armbar reversal by Garvin from a seated position. Garvin sells his ass off from Bart who really is not bringing a whole lot of interesting shit offensively. Garvin with a crossbody for a good nearfall. Garvin plays possom and wins with a roll up. Decent little match entirely due to Garvin.

Ron Garvin v. Robert Gibson

Strange opening exchange ends with Garvin trying a schoolboy variation and Gibson blocking it by standing on his head for what seems like two minutes while Garvin holds his leg. These guys are pushing and shoving and flipping the bird but then go back to test of strength spots. Garvin is heeling but they keep going back to shit like roll up exchanges. Garvin eventually gets knocked silly by Gibson and bails to the floor. Garvin ends up working a sleeperhold on Gibson. This ends up in a time limit draw after some back and fourth. The spots in this were good but the layout wasn't.

Ron Garvin v. Greg Gagne

I think this is from Superclash III. This was stiff but other than that largely unappealing with a stupid count out finish.
