Road Warriors/Paul Ellering promo

Adnan giving Ellering bounty money.

Fabulous Ones interview. They are in full tuxedo get up.

Bruiser Brody v. Jerry Blackwell

JIP. Brody hits a pretty nice dropkick. Blackwell's hulk up was pretty good. He avalanche splashes Brody once and then goes for a second but Brody hits him with a chair for a nearfall and then a diving knee for a second nearfall. Blackwell's selling is really great at this point. Blackwell ends up fighting back and hitting a chairshot and then his powerslam but Adnan attacks the ref before he can count the fall. Gagne runs in and makes the save and Blackwell splashes Adnan for the finish? Bizarre finish, though Greg's return was pretty wild and I what was shown was good. i doubt there is a more complete version. This should be an EXTRA

Jimmy Garvin interview

Crusher interview

Steve O v. Brian Jewel

Squash. Better than the Zenk match.

Chris Markoff/Rick Winslow(?) v. Jim Brunzell/Tony Atlas

Tony Atlas flying racial stereotype headbutt was funny.

Road Warriors/Paul Ellering interview

Road Warriors v. Steve O/Brad Rheingans

Pre-match Warriors hit the ring and absolutely destroy Brunzell who is supposed to be Steve O's partner, hitting him with a hot shot variation and the diving clothesline. Ellering gets on the mic and starts cackling and cuts a promo. Rheingans hits the ring to take the place of the destroyed Brunzell. Roadies get pissed and rip up Rheingans jacket. Fun to watch the babyfaces fire up on the Roadies and Roadies sell frustration. The fucking crowd is going bananas in part due to the pre-match Brunzell attack and they stay super hot throughout this. Steve O is a really great FIP and they work some really strong teaser segments, including Animal blocking a crossbody attempt with a slam, and Steve O rolling through on a headlock for a near hot tag. Tag to Rheingans is well built to and comes off well. Rheingans does not look very dynamic but they kept his time short and he tagged back out quick. Cool finish with Steve O leapfrogging Hawk and getting blindsided by a lariat from Animal. If you include the pre-match angle this is a pretty strong little match.

Stan Lane/Blackjack Lanza v. Larry Zbyszko/Bobby Heenan

Heenan and Larry bumping up against each other is awesome every time. I especially loved Larry's leaping knee that "accidentally" smacked Bobby to the floor. Lanza's flying headscissors looked good, though his dropkick looked like shit. Lots of spots with Larry and Heenan stalling and backing down especially from Lane. Lanza goes FIP and Heenan finally tags in and starts working him over. Facial expression Bobby gives when Lanza starts to fire up is really great and he tags right back out to Larry. Bobby back in and briefly works over Lanza again before Bobby takes a big corner bump. Lanza is actually really good about getting into position to get worked on into between hope spots which is not easy when one of the heels is working a cowardly pussy gimmick. Hot tag to Lane after a double head bump from the heels. Lanza tags back in and locks on his sleeper but Heenan hits him in the back of the head with a foreign object behind the refs back. This was just a notch below nomination level, but still a lot of fun especially for such a totally random pair of teams.

Buck Zumhofe v. Leo Burke

This was bizarre. They work basic exchanges coming up for maybe one big spot and then Zumhofe gets bumped to the floor and bleeds severely and they call the match.

Rick Martel interview with World Title

Larry Zbyszko/Mr. Saito/Billy Robinson v. The Fabulous Ones/Blackjack Lanza

Saito being whipped around, beating from pillar to post, and taking a huge bump to the floor off of an enziguri is NOT what you expect from Saito. Saito back in and starts bowing so Lane keeps him in the face and Saito is just twirling around getting hit with shit till he gets backed into the corner. Really impressive to see how easily Saito can work that style of U.S. heel given his badass look and rep. Larry and Robinson work the same sort of spots with the babyfaces which really gets the crowd going. Robinson takes over with his deep neckbreaker on Keirn. Heels do a good job isolating Keirn and Saito ends up putting him in a Scorpion in the heels corner, which Lane runs in an breaks with a punch. Lanza gets the hot tag sort of uneventfully and then all hell breaks loose with everyone in the ring at once. Somehow Lane ends up winning with a sunset flip. More good than bad, but I thought the stretch run was really silly and confused.

Baron Von Raschke v. Steve Regal

Ugh. I don't like either of these guys and this match did nothing to change that. I did enjoy Regal leaping into the ropes to avoid the claw but other than that this was totally uninteresting.

The Road Warriors v. Tony Atlas/Jim Brunzell

Hawk/Atlas face off pre-match was pretty intense. This was okay. Animal bumped pretty big for Brunzell who I liked in this. The rest of the guys were just sort of there. Kept somewhat interesting because of a hot crowd.

Nick Bockwinkel v. Rick Martel

Cuts off a cople of seconds in. I imagine we will have this somewhere else.

Bruiser Brody v. Jerry Blackwell

JIP. i doubt there is a more complete version. This should be an EXTRA

The version on my Blackwell vs. Brody disc is 13:00-ish minutes long and I think is complete.

Chris Markoff/Rick Winslow(?) v. Jim Brunzell/Tony Atlas

Rick Renslow is the guys name.

Nick Bockwinkel v. Rick Martel

Cuts off a couple of seconds in. I imagine we will have this somewhere else.

It is, at least two of their three Winnipeg bouts when Martel was champ are out there complete. One with heenan still with Nick I think is too but I'm not 100% on that. Might be on the World Pro set.

AWA World Tag Titles: The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) vs. "Jumpin" Jim Brunzell & Steve O (8/16/84)

Roadies destroy the faces before the bell rings and nuke Brunzell with an inverted Hot Shot on the top rope that looked brutal as shit before killing him with a diving clothesline off the top. Ellering then talks some shit until Brad Rheingans came out to take Brunzell's place and they run wild on the Roadies sending them to the floor. The faces continued their attack in the ring and it was odd at the time that the Roadies would give so much to the faces. Steve would eventually get caught by the Roadies and worked FIP before getting the hot tag to Brad who runs wild on Animal who sells big for his atomic drop. Steve would eventually come back in and the 4-way brawl was on before Steve ate a big clothesline by Animal as he leapfrogged Hawk. This was a fine match with the Roadies selling more than normal so I'll pass it on as a low-end pick.

Larry Zbyszko & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan vs. Stan Lane & Blackjack Lanza (8/16/84)

Interesting teams here. The early part is all Zbyszko & Heenan schtick which is pretty fun as they know how to bump and sell for their opponents like champs. Lanza especially needed it because he was looking past his prime here bigtime barely able to get up for a dropkick but to his credit he was good as the FIP as he sold well plus his chemistry with Heenan is great due to their long history together and the buildup to the hot tag was good. Lane came in firing away on Larry before tagging Lanza back in who locked on the sleeper but Heenan caught him with a foreign object from behind and Larry covered for the win. Fun match but not a nomination.

Everything else here was just okay.
