Early on it is all Hennig confounding the heels with speed and precision. When Hall comes in they do a cool spot with Bock trying to reach on the ring and getting hung up on the ring ropes with the babyfaces bouncing on the ropes until he flips into the ring. They end up working over Larry's arm with the heels trying to save him but the faces stepping in to keep them at bay. Gagne actually rattles off some cool highspots including a rope running monkey flip and a headscissors takedown before tagging Hennig in. Hennig almost immediately takes a sharp belly to back which he sells the fuck out of and the heels drag him to their corner and start working him over 3 on 1. Hennig ends up on the ground taking a big body slam from Larry and a nasty knee drop to the top of his head. Larry finally throws Hennig back into the ring and locks on his ab stretch. Man Curt is selling his ass off. Heels keep distracting the ref to stop hot tags. Hennig with a fireman's carry and looks to roll away from Larry but gets grabbed by the back of his tights by Bock who beats him up and throws him back to Larry who his a suplex for a nearfall. Curt kicks Larry who telegraphs a back body drop and tries to scramble for a tag by Bock hits him with a hotshot type move that Curt bumps big for. Hennig with a cross body for a good nerfall and then a huge bump off of a double shoulder tackle bump with Bock that leads to the hot tag. All hell breaks loose and Stevens ends up getting pinned by a Hall powerslam. Hennig was great in this and everyone else looked good as well.

"Rambo" Greg Gagne, Scott Hall, & Curt Hennig vs. Nick Bockinwinkel, Ray "The Crippler" Stevens, & Larry Zbyszko (9/28/85)

The legendary Jack Brickhouse does the intros before the match and tells some stories as he's doing it like only Jack could. Hennig starts out and looks good as he frustrates the heels with his quickness and ability to get out the bad situations they tried to put him in. Zbyszko would get caught by the faces and would take some punishment from all of them until he gave Hennig a nice backdrop suplex. Bock would come in and the heels then started working over Hennig including sending him to the grass where he got slammed hard by Zbyszko with Bock would get some shots in also. Hennig was really good here as the FIP and would finally get the tag after a double collision bringing in Gagne who was a house of fire before a 6-way brawl erupted. Hall was very green here in everything he did even when it was time to come in the ring. Hall would finish off Stevens though with a powerslam although neither was the legal man. Hennig was solid here and the FIP section was the best part of the match but the match as a whole isn't enough for a nomination to me.

Curt Hennig/Scott Hall/Greg Gagne v Nick Bockwinkel/Ray Stevens/Larry Zbyszko

This match was all about the Hennig FIP stuff. He was GREAT in that role here. Bock and Larry were great picking on him, too. Loved when Hennig rolled to the outside, and Bock snuck around and punched him, then Larry ran and kneed him from the apron. Awesome stuff. Gagne looked on fire in this as well, although the pre-match camou midriff top was regrettable. I also didn't realize Stevens was working heel this late in his career. I'm kind on the fence about nominating this one. It did a lot of things well, the FIP sections were great, they maximized Scott Hall's usefullness, but I wish it had picked up faster and been more of a sprint. So I'm on the fence.
