I thought Wiles offense looked pretty sharp in this and him cursing out the ref actually made the stupid ref chop exchange less stupid than normal. All total this was passable. The Dupps v. Danny Doring/Roadkill I THINK this might have made TNN. This was actually pretty fun. I liked some of the early double team spots from the faces, Cham Pain was funny on the outside, you got the Dupps screaming derogatory shit about Abe Lincoln, Doring takes a pretty decent beating when he's in the ring, they actually build this and work it like a real tag match and not a standard highspot collection, et. Not a nomination but one of the better Roadkill/Doring matches I've seen. Little Guido v. Super Crazy Some cool opening matwork from Guido. Crazy tries to fire back with a moonsault but Guido dropkicks the fuck out of him on the way down. Crazy goes for another one and gets shoved down onto Sal but they end up working a spot with Crazy hitting his Asai on both of the heels. The theme of this is that Crazy keeps going for shit off the ropes and Guido keeps countering him, including a powerbomb/schoolboy thing and a middle rope russian legsweep that was timed well enough that it actually looked good. Crazy makes a comeback with a nasty looking spinning DDT and then hits an in ring flip onto Guido for a nearfall which I have never seen him do before. Sal accidentally squashes the ref and the finish ends up being a series of run-in's with Tajiri and Lynn ending with Guido getting the fall after Crazy is taken out. This was a good match, but at this stage in the game where I see what is being rejected I think the finish and brevity of this make it a real long shot for consideration. Chris Candido v. Simon Diamond Candido takes some bumps for Diamond and then wins with a few of his big moves. Decent little match but nothing special. Tajiri v. Jerry Lynn Tajiri attacks Lynn at the bell but we miss some of this because Jack Victory is jawing with Gabe. Cool spot with Tajiri mocking Lynn by sitting on his knees and flipping off the fans but when he gets up Lynn shoots out of the corner and hits him with a running bulldog. Lynn takes out Victory and Corino at the ringside while Tajiri stalks around on the floor suckering Lynn in and then opening up with kicks in the ring. Tajiri locks on the tarantula and then takes time to shit talk the fans while sliding across the middle rope ala Naniwa's crabwalk elbow. Awesome looking Tajiri baseball slide/tree of woe kick as Victory curses out Gabe again. Tajiri winning with kicks and they set up a Lynn comeback after Tajiri rana's Lynn on a comeback attempt only for Lynn to clothesline him. Brief fighting spirit spot from Lynn that ends in a Corino run-in behind the refs back. Lynn ends up fighting off the heels and winning with a cradle piledriver. Tajiri was great in this and Lynn was pretty good though you wished they could have set up a better finish. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten v. Da Baldies Baldies win after Vic comes out and helps them. Fun brawl while it lasted, with Balls taking a big guardrail bump. Post-match New Jack hits the ring and helps Balls and Axl destroy the Baldies ending with a balcony dive. Rob Van Dam v. C.W. Anderson Man C.W. was busting his ass here. He hits two early left hands that look and sound like they kill Van Dam. Then he does an unusually good job setting up RVD's silly offense and in fact makes some of it look non-silly. He follows this up with an insane looking face plant bump on the apron after Van Dam just leaps onto him. Van Dam misses a spinkick and gets hit with a spinebuster. Finish comes shortly after that which is too bad as I thought this might be a nomination worthy match if it had been a bit longer. Sabu v. Rob Van Dam This was a balls to the wall spotfest that spilled over from the previous match. They hit a lot of big offense in a very quick fashion but it had a really cool feel to it. They end up doing a spot where Sabu goes for the triple jump but his leg gets wedged in the chair. RVD turns it into a chair assisted crab but Candido and Rhino hit the ring for the non-finish. Too bad. Sandman/Tommy Dreamer/Raven v. The Impact Players/Rhino Pretty fun clusterfuckish brawl though it was super short. Mike Awesome v. Spike Dudley Not sure if we have this already or not but based on what I see of the existing shows we are missing this tv taping. Anyway this was short but great. Spike bumps huge for Awesome early including a really insane looking bump off of a standard back body drop. Spike finally makes a comeback and hits a really awesome variation of his rolling senton that puts Awesome on the ground and him in the first row. He then does his diving chair spot. They build up to the inevitable top rope Awesome Bomb finish pretty well too. This was really a big burst of energy, but it was well structured for a match of such brevity and I continue to be impressed by how well Spike could work with just about anyone.
