Posted November 18, 201014 yr comment_5458424 Super Nova v. Pablo Marquez Nova is just a total goof in this celebrating every pinfall attempt and offensive move. Marquez does a good job making his offense look pretty good including a nasty looking bump on a spinning F5 type of move. Marquez ends up on the floor and somehow ends up hugging Richards but ends up eating a brutal superkick. Nova hits the shittiest looking roundoff clothesline in this though it actually helps the match as him being a dumbass is sort of the point. Cool spot with Marquez diving onto Richards and Meanie on a rope running spot and Nova follows that up with his post-vaulting hilo. Nova goes for a splash off the top but Marquez rolls through for the pin. I actually liked this a fair amount but I'm not going to vouch for it as one of the best ECW matches in history. D-Von Dudley v. Hack Myers JIP. Structurally this was really sound to the point that I actually really wish we had this in full. Hack took a good ass kicking and when he came back he stiffed the shit out of D-Von with a couple of clotheslines. Finish with D-Von begging off before reversing fortunes and winning with a huge chairshot was good too. I liked this. Bubba Dudley v. Shane Douglas I had some hopes for this, but boy was the crowd brawling bad. At one point Bubba puts Shane on a table and just lays on him. Then he goes for a urange on another table and it ends up looking weak as fuck to the point where you doubt that it would have hurt anyone. Ridiculous spot with Francine letting Bubba feel her up and then she pulls a chain out of her cleavage and gives it Shane? Nearfall segment wasn't very good either. Angle with FBI/Raven's lackey's destroying Sandman The Gangstas v. Damian Kane/Devon Storm Pre-match New Jack promo is insane as he goes off on various tag teams ducking them then issues an open challenge. The Bad Crew hit the ring but New Jack threatens to kill them so they leave. Then Storm/kane jump them in the aisleway on the way back and hit the ring and start brawling with the Gangstas. Samoan Gangsta Party end up running in from behind and helping Kane/Storm destroy the Gangstas. Gangstas still win. Another good New Jack promo post match. Eliminators v. Mikey Whipwreck/Chris Jericho I'm of two minds on this. On the one hand this is the best structured Elims mach I've ever seen. On the other hand there was some really sloppy stuff in this down the stretch and Kronus was really fucking horrible in this showing no emotion on offense, being completely out of place multiple times on key spots, et. Mikey's FIP was really great and they did some excellent big spots, including Jericho getting wiped out from a plancha, but then saving Mikey at the last second from a total elimination by diving and taking out Saturn's leg sweep at the same time Kronus hit his head kick. Also loved the early run of top rope offense the faces hit to get some nearfalls on the heels and make them look like equals. Hot tag was well built to but uneventful in part because Kronus fucked up a key sequence. Finish with the Elims getting an out of nowhere Total Elimination coming off the ropes was really cool, but this was needlessly long and just fell apart toward the end despite having some really great moments. Bruise Brothers v. Tommy Dreamer/Terry Gordy Strangely Freebird plays for the first part of this but they stop playing it right before it picks up into an uptempo beat. Lots of plunder shots including the faces getting thrown through what appears to have been the remnants of a side room int he building?? Stupid finish with the Asiatic Spike just a few seconds after they made it to the ring.
