Really fast early with some fun spots, especially Mikey's sit down elbow drop to block a monkey flip attempt. Whipwreck sells and bumps really great for Lynn, including getting spiked on a headscissors and Lynn does the same for a backbreaker. They take turns tying each other up in knots on the mat. Mikey hits a great springboard rana on the floor, then a great flip dive over the barricade. Lynn makes his comeback cutting off Mikey on the top and hitting a really good looking rana. Lynn goes to the top and Mikey cuts him off and hits a really great looking superplex for a strong nearfall. Really great counter spot as Mikey goes for whippersnapper backing out of the corner and Lynn hits him with a Misawa level forearm to the face leading to a DDT for the finish. This was the perfect length, had a ton of big offense in it but was still well paced, and came across as a war. Really good match.

Jerry Lynn vs. Mikey Whipwreck (10/3/98)

- Man, these guys came out with some gusto. Some cool things early on but the coolest was the tilt-a-rana that DROPS Mikey on his head. Some matches are hampered by going to the outside. I think this match was actually helped since there were some stiff shots that brought up the intensity of the match. Big finish with a ton of finishers blocked. I want to move this forward but we’ll have to se ehow many times this matchup pops up on the set.

Jerry Lynn vs. Mikey Whipwreck (10/3/98)

These two had a really solid series of matches and I preferred this series over Lynn's more famous series with Justin & RVD so this match should be no different. They started out with a bang and kept the pace going throughout the match with Lynn being the aggressor which is great for a Mikey match because he is best as the FIP. The brawling on the floor was really solid as they were bumping hard on the floor and the railing which added to the intensity of the match. The stretch run of this was nice as well and this moves forward easily.
