So my fucking computer froze and I lost the entire post I had written on this show, but this was a good match. Lots of early comedy/schtick spots with Simon and they actually worked well. Spike did his cool knuckle lock escape, the match had really solid timing and build, and I liked the highspots that they came up for. Good use of nearfalls too. Up there with the best Diamond matches I've seen so far and another good performance from Spike.

Spike Dudley vs. Simon Diamond (1/14/00)

- Silly shit early on with Spike showing Diamond up. It’s too much for Diamond so he takes a breather and regroups. Diamond wins me over after the fun stuff by bashing Spike’s leg in and destroying it ten different ways. If Spike can sell it when standing, this is a lock. He walks gingerly so that is close. Nice ending with Spike countering the interference and leading to the Dudley Dog. Nice solid match and a way to showcase Diamond in singles.

Spike Dudley vs. Simon Diamond (1/14/00)

Again leave it up to Spike to make someone who normally isn't good look like way better than they are. Yeah the comedy stuff early on was well done and Diamond was good at taking it to a serious direction after working on Dudley's right leg. Spike is great at selling it then even selling it a little bit after he starts his comeback. Spike would eventually hit the Dudley Dog to win and this was a fun little match although on the short side. This moves forward.
