Spike Dudley v. Axl Rotten

This was a fun match, but their wasn't enough meat to it to really merit a nomination. I loved Spike's missile dropkick, and Axl failing to catch him on a dive made it look even wilder than usual for Spike (which is saying something). I also liked the opening ambush bit and I even thought the simplicity of the finish was cool. Just wasn't quite enough there to make it a standout match.

Steve Williams v. Balls Mahoney

Balls bumping for a Williams punch that obviously missed its target was pretty sad. Having said that I did like the way Balls sold how big time Dr. Death was as it made it seem even more important when Doc took a big bump for him and eventually went FIP with Balls working the leg. Also loved the spot with Williams punching Balls in the face as desperation and Balls selling it like a shotgun blast. This match had decent enough structure and I marked for the back drop driver finish, but it's not a nomination or even close to it.

Chris Chetti v. Little Guido

Holy shit Guido's bump off of the springboard clothesline was really fucking awesome and I liked his rana counter of the powerbomb attempt almost as much. These two always work well together and this is no exception. Guido's dropkick that he followed up with a rebound russian leg sweep was a cool combination I'd never seen him do before. Chetti ends up taking a couple of stiff looking chops and then a nasty bump off of a baseball slide before Guido goes to a Camel Clutch. Chetti making a comeback with a spin kick where he hits Guido with his ass doesn't bother me because he usually misses those all together, and the nearfall run afterwards was pretty good. Then Chetti almost dies on a flip splash bump with Guido moving and Chetti travelin upwards of 70 percent of the ring on the bump. Guido sticks to the back and his a sick backbreaker variation and then a roll up for a nearfall. Finish was somewhat strange as Guido sat down on a sunset flip but then had to convince the ref to drop down a make a count at which point Chetti pulled through on the sunset flip and pinned Guido clean. Not a home run, but good enough to nominate.

Raven/Brian Lee v. Eliminators

Raven and Lee working criss cross comedy heel spots was really strange. This went on forever, featured a long BWO run, and really wasn't good at all.

Strange angle with Spicolli/New Jack and Dudz.

Rob Van Dam v. Pitbull 2

Some of the counters in this were really awesome. I liked Pitbull 2 blocking a monkey flip attempt and then killing RVD with a clothesline. Also liked RVD splitting on the ropes to avoid a corner charge and then hitting his tope con hilo onto 2. Pitbull making a comeback with a press slam, into a tombstone onto a fucking chair was a cool spot, but RVD kicking out of that just pissed me off. The ref bump and run-in finish with Douglas were both ridiculous.

Pitbull 1 v. Shane Douglas

Man did this suck. The crowd was really into it which kept it from being sleep inducing, but Douglas working control segments is one of my least favorite things in wrestling, followed closely by Pitbull 1 offense.

Chris Candido v. Sabu

I did not like the first half of this at all, but I thought the second half was pretty good. The bit with Candido taking the table away from ringside to neutralize Sabu's main weapon was pretty cool. And there were a lot of cool back and fourth counters of offense from both guys down the stretch. Also dug the finish with Candido getting caught off the top and then quickly submitting to a camel clutch.

D-Von/Bubba Dudley v. Sandman/Tommy Dreamer

Decent tag. Some solid schtick from the Dudz and Sandman did a few cool things.
