Blue Panther/Talisman/El Dandy v. Stuka/America Rocca/Chamaco Valaguez

A basic very well executed lucha match, we get the first fall of exchanges, with Stuka v. Panther being a stand out. A second fall of rudo stooging, Valaguez was really neat, I hadn't seen a ton of him before and he had a bunch of cool ways to maneuver the rudos into bumping into each other. We get a third fall with some near falls and bigger moves. I think this makes a set, although it didn't have the truly stand out moments to make it a slam dunk selection.

Jerry Estrada/MS1/Satanico v. Mogur/Javier Cruz/Tony Benetto

I think this is on the other side of the previous match. It was also well executed lucha with very good luchadores, but I though it fell short of something to put on. Estrada took some fun bumps, Satanico was Satanico, but I thought it lost some steam at the end and finished with more of whimper then a bang

Lemus/Sombra Pobalana/Impacto v. El Leon Chino/Pierroth/Tierra,Viento y Fuego

I imagine most of these guys went on to different gimmicks, fun underacard lucha, I especially dug Lemus and Leon Chino, didn't make a huge mark though. Fun but inessential.

Chacharro Mendoza/Stuka/Rokambole v. Vulcano/Tony Arce/Enfermero

Fun match, with a nice look at some luchadores I hadn't seen much of before, I especially liked Rokambole who was Villano 5. Not a disc level match

Jerry Estrada/Pirata Morgan/Hombre Bala v. Atlantis/Alfonso Dantes/Rayo De Jalisco Jr.

Piratas are great, and while this wasn't a high end match, I think there was enough slick Pirata stuff that I am going to at least throw it on the table. Rayo is great at avoiding folks, and the Pirata are awesome at swinging and missing, Atlantis had a really cool lucha segment too, and Alfonso Dantes is rock. I wanted a more hectic finish, and the start was underwhelming, definitely a cusp match but I am going yes.

Blue Panther/Talisman/El Dandy v. Stuka/America Rocca/Chamaco Valaguez

This was pretty rad. Great primera caida stuff with Panther and Stuka. Panther cheap shotting Stuka before the match started was cool, they had a nifty exchange, and Stuka's finish where he caught Dandy in a backdrop position and turned it into a Tornado Bomb was just sick. Then there's the second fall, and it's interesting that Phil brings up Valaguez' role in it, because I actually didn't think much of him in this match. Instead, my eyes were trained on El Dandy, who was putting on a clinic on constantly having his teammates accidentally knock him off of the apron. It was like he was doing an unintentional dive train without a target. And speaking of the apron, I love that the last fall was all about the tecnicos (and later Talisman) trying to find the most violent way to eat a bump into the apron. This is a solid nomination, and I second it.

Jerry Estrada/MS1/Satanico v. Mogur/Javier Cruz/Tony Benetto

Good match. Los Infernales were on fire here, but the technicos - while not actually bad - didn't have much of an answer.

Lemus/Sombra Pobalana/Impacto v. El Leon Chino/Pierroth/Tierra,Viento y Fuego

I really wanted to love a match with a wrestler named "Earth, Wind, & Fire" in it, but it just wasn't happening.

Chacharro Mendoza/Stuka/Rokambole v. Vulcano/Tony Arce/Enfermero

This took some time to grab me. I liked the Destructores in this, but they couldn't quite replicate El Dandy's performance earlier on the disc. Not a nomination.

Jerry Estrada/Pirata Morgan/Hombre Bala v. Atlantis/Alfonso Dantes/Rayo De Jalisco Jr.

I think Phil is underselling this match a bit. Could have had a more hectic finish, but I thought the start was plenty hectic. The whole first fall was was just the Piratas swarming the technicos and mugging them. Then after they win, they dump Atlantis and the floor, and Atlantis kinda takes a Jerry bump, so it's like Jerry giving one of his opponents a taste of their own medicine. Then segunda caida hits and the technicos go after the Piratas just as hard. Like Phil said, even Rayo's comedy stuff felt more like him being evasive and misdirecting his opponents rather than being a silly fun babyface. Seconded.

Lizmark/La Fiera/Kung Fu vs. Los Tres Bucaneros (Pirata Morgan/Hombre Bala/Jerry Estrada)

On the flip side, I'm kinda surprised Phil liked this as much as he did. The first fall is loaded with overblown, showoffish bumps (especially from Hombre Bala...I guess he decided he had to really push it to outbump Jerry), and the comedy felt way more CHIKARA than Arn Anderson...all stuff he usually hates. Don't get me wrong, it was entertaining (I do have a higher tolerance for CHIKARA than Phil does), the first fall ended well enough with Lizmark's spectacular powerslam, and the match did pick up from there. Still I have to say "no" to a nomination.

Blue Panther/El Dandy/Talisman vs. Americo Rocca/Stuka/Chamaco Valaguez (November 1986)

BP & Stuka were the highlights here of a 1st fall that had some really fun exchanges with everyone looking strong. Dandy taking a quasi Tornado Bomb by Stuka was nice. I loved the 2nd fall as the rudos were great here at selling and stooging around with Dandy getting knocked off the apron numerous times before they would get the advantage and dominated the tecs. The 3rd fall was fun as everyone was really solid here with some great bumping especially by the rudos. I really wanted to see a BP/Stuka matchup here as they were so good against each other as well as Dandy & Chamaco. All in all a really solid lucha match and I'll push this forward as a nomination.

Jerry Estrada/MS-1/Satanico vs. Tony Benetto (Gran Markus Jr.)/Javier "El Monarca" Cruz/Mogur (November 1986)

The rudos here were really solid here even with Satanico acting like an angry dad to Estrada in the corner. Benetto was fun here being fired up on the pissed off Satanico. Estrada bumping and selling like crazy trying to make Satanico happy was nice. Other than Benetto there wasn't a whole lot going on with the tecnico side and there wasn't anything here to push this forward as a nomination to me although I did love the Infernales beatdown of Estrada after the match.

Impacto/Lemus/Sombra Poblana vs. Leon Chino/Pierroth/Tierra, Viento, y Fuego (December 1986)

Fun for what it was.

Cachorro Mendoza/Rokamble/Stuka vs. Tony Arce/Enfermero Jr./Vulcano (December 1986)

Another nice undercard style match.

Atlantis/Alfonso Dantes/Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs. Los Bucaneros (Jerry Estrada/Hombre Bala/Pirata Morgan) (January 1987)

Bucaneros kick ass right from the start as they just dominate the tecs with Atlantis taking a really good beating. I loved the 2nd fall as the tecnicos come as hard at the rudos as the rudos did to them in the 1st fall. Very spirited work here with Dantes being fun with his rapid takedowns, Atlantis with his athleticism, & Rayo using his smarts to trick the rudos. The 3rd fall was fun stuff as there was a lot of great bumping going on here but the Bucaneros teamwork put them over the top here. Very fun match and this is a low-end pick.

La Fiera/Kung Fu/Lizmark vs. Los Bucaneros (Jerry Estrada/Hombre Bala/Pirata Morgan) (2/27/87)

Always love when Fiera & Estrada are on opposite sides so this should be good. I really dug Kung Fu here as he was on his Jackie Chan shit just tooling the rudos making them bump like crazy. Damn was Lizmark fluid here as his athleticism shined bright. Fiera was great as usual here doing everything so well. The Bucaneros were so fucking good here as a trio working together using vicious offense to pound on the tecnicos. I really dug the legwork on Fiera here as you didn't see a whole lot of limbwork like this in lucha plus you add Fiera's great selling it was great. The 3rd fall had some really fun moments as Kung Fu hit a great tope suicida and Fiera making a spirited comeback while selling his leg before the tecs get the win. Very solid match here and a solid nomination.
