Danny Doring v. Taz This looked and felt like a Doring try out. Taz gave him a fair amount probably because he was his trainer. The Tazplex thrown in this looked really nasty. Raven v. Chris Chetti Chetti starts off by grappling with Lupus. This show is starting to take on the feel of ECW version of NXT as they go through basic exchanges and holds and Raven is working a really base level stalling gimmick that pretty well sucks. Alternating between arm work and liberal use of chairs really doesn't work. You would think a so called "master" of wrestling psychology like Raven would grasp that much. Evidently not. Spike Dudley v. Bubba Dudley I liked the story of this okay, but the execution wasn't spot on. Spike was working hard but seemed a step off and Bubba seemed down right lazy at points. Spike took some typically huge bumps off of Bubba power moves and they did a pretty good job building to the Spike comeback, but their was some weak looking stuff in here and the ref bump SUCKED. Most notable aspect of this was Spike getting the clean win. Chris Candido v. Mikey Whipwreck Candido does the bit where he talks shit on the mic and ends up getting back body dropped while still holding the mic and whining. They follow this up with a really sharp flurry from Mikey that saw Candido really jumping into some bumps. Some more cool exchanges and Candido ends up taking his huge over the ropes face plant bump, followed by a bump off of a Mikey punch into the fist row where he ends up with a chair hanging around his neck. They lose a bit of steam on a roll up sequence, but it gets hot again with Mikey's teased comebacks and a great sequence with Candido hitting a desperation neckbreaker, missing his diving headbutt and then hitting a desperation enziguri that sounds like a canon and puts Mikey out flat on his face. Mikey fires back with some nasty uppercuts that Candido sells perfectly and then eats a nasty boot and a sick looking tornado DDT for a nearfall. Lame finish with Francine running in drags this down, but it was still a good match. Louie Spicolli v. Balls Mahoney This was a passable match. Balls bump on the DVD always impresses me and it flowed okay despite the fact that there were a few things that looked pretty weak. Pitbulls v. Eliminators Seeing this come up on the screen was a major "fuck life" moment. The most inexplicable aspect of this is how much of it is worked as a straight tag match. These are two teams that really offer nothing other than some cool big spots. Neither understands structure or psychology and yet a large portion of this was an attempt to work a match with structure and tag psych. They failed. And the match sucked. Steve Richards v. Shane Douglas Richards gets attacked before the bell and Douglas immediately goes to town on his back. We get a camel clutch, a butterfly suplex and an ab stretch. The whole time Douglas is shit talking people in the crowd talking about fucking their wives and beating them up because they are fat. Richards sells the fuck out of a dropkick to his lower back. Douglas with his good corkscrew vertical suplex. Douglas fucks up a surfboard variation so he wisely turns it into a pinning combination than hits a really vicious backbreaker. Douglas and Richards end up getting into a nasty chop fight and then a punch exchange. Stevie wins and works over Shane's nuts with a series of nut shots of various kinds. Douglas goes to the top but Richards superkicks his foot knocking him ball first onto the cables which was actually a bit of sound psych in this match. Richards goes for his superkick after a powerbomb but Francine comes in so he kisses her. Distraction allows Shane to hit the single arm and the belly to belly for the finish. Strangely I liked this a lot. D-Von/Big Dick Dudley v. Sandman/Tommy Dreamer I liked Sandman in this as he was taking the Dudz offense really well and fun flying around and just being the reckless drunken fool that he is. New Jack ends up running in after bubba does and this breaks down into a total wild affair. More fun than I expected though nothing worth going out of your way to see.
