Posted November 30, 201014 yr comment_5458885 Candido does the bit where he talks shit on the mic and ends up getting back body dropped while still holding the mic and whining. They follow this up with a really sharp flurry from Mikey that saw Candido really jumping into some bumps. Some more cool exchanges and Candido ends up taking his huge over the ropes face plant bump, followed by a bump off of a Mikey punch into the fist row where he ends up with a chair hanging around his neck. They lose a bit of steam on a roll up sequence, but it gets hot again with Mikey's teased comebacks and a great sequence with Candido hitting a desperation neckbreaker, missing his diving headbutt and then hitting a desperation enziguri that sounds like a canon and puts Mikey out flat on his face. Mikey fires back with some nasty uppercuts that Candido sells perfectly and then eats a nasty boot and a sick looking tornado DDT for a nearfall. Lame finish with Francine running in drags this down, but it was still a good match.
December 9, 201014 yr comment_5460105 Chris Candido vs. Mikey Whipwreck (5/23/97) - After mikey gets the better of him, Candido takes a breather and he gets back in the ring and it happens again. Nice. Even better, Mikey goes outside so he’ll stop taking breathers. Too bad Mikey gets beat up outside. Inside, Candido is in control and Mikey works in some hope spots. Maybe I am in a good mood but I like this more than the Candido matches I have seen in the last few days that Dylan had as Solid Noms. I think I just like the match layout even if the moves weren’t blockbuster. I liked this match and thought it was a solid nomination except for the relatively weak ending. At least it was kept relatively somewhat clean.
February 2, 201114 yr comment_5463818 "No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido vs. Mikey Whipwreck (5/23/97) Good fast paced action to start with Candido bumping all over the ring for Mikey then on the floor where he takes a great bump over the rail and into the chairs from a punch. Candido would soon go on offense and works over Mikey while the crowd shits on him then he shits on them. Mikey makes a comeback after eating a hard enzuigiri but Francine would come to the ring then distracts Mikey so Candido could pin him. This had some good action and I think it's good for a low-end nomination.
