Posted November 30, 201014 yr comment_5458886 Richards gets attacked before the bell and Douglas immediately goes to town on his back. We get a camel clutch, a butterfly suplex and an ab stretch. The whole time Douglas is shit talking people in the crowd talking about fucking their wives and beating them up because they are fat. Richards sells the fuck out of a dropkick to his lower back. Douglas with his good corkscrew vertical suplex. Douglas fucks up a surfboard variation so he wisely turns it into a pinning combination than hits a really vicious backbreaker. Douglas and Richards end up getting into a nasty chop fight and then a punch exchange. Stevie wins and works over Shane's nuts with a series of nut shots of various kinds. Douglas goes to the top but Richards superkicks his foot knocking him ball first onto the cables which was actually a bit of sound psych in this match. Richards goes for his superkick after a powerbomb but Francine comes in so he kisses her. Distraction allows Shane to hit the single arm and the belly to belly for the finish. Strangely I liked this a lot.
December 9, 201014 yr comment_5460106 Shane Douglas vs. Stevie Richards (5/23/97) - The bWo lay a beatdown on Stevie early on and I don’t know what is going on there. Shane chases them off but then attacks Stevie. Nice! Man, Shane is just beating on the poor guy. This is turning into squash territory. You gotta give it to Stevie for trying to fight back but he was getting his ass kicked. His comeback was nice but I don’t think anyone thought Stevie had a shot to win. The stretch run was way fun with Stevie about to unload the superkick but Francine stops him. Shane recovers and eventually gets the pin. The match got really good down the stretch but I think I have to agree with the low-end nomination.
February 2, 201114 yr comment_5463821 ECW World TV Title: "The Franchise" Shane Douglas © vs. "Big Stevie Cool" Stevie Richards (5/23/97) The bWo attacks Stevie before the match and I think this was right after he showed up on Nitro for the first time so this was the blowoff of the bWo I think. Shane then goes to work on Stevie capitalizing on the attack and he destroys him pretty much with Stevie trying a little to fight back. Stevie then rips off his shirt to make a comeback which was fun especially the Dusty flip flop and fly ending with a kick to the balls. Stevie had Shane on the ropes after a powerbomb before Francine got involved then he kissed her going back to a 2 year old storyline leading to Shane putting him away with the belly-to-belly. I liked this one a lot as well and I think this moves forward.
