Posted December 2, 201014 yr comment_5458970 Chico Santana vs. Kid Chocolate This is a midget match and wasn't very good. The Assassins (Don Bass & Dirty Rhodes) vs. Victor Jovica & Big Red Reese Dirty had lost some weight during this time so he was looking svelte which is something that Big Red definitely wasn't. Jovica did all the work for his team then Red tagged in and he got KOed by the loaded mask immediately. Nothing match. Eddie Gilbert vs. Gerald Finley Cool seeing Finley working WWC TV matches. Gilbert is still a white bread babyface here and this is worked as a total babyface match. I always dug Finley and thought he could've been used better and he gets some offense here while overshadowing Gilbert in my eyes. Finley hit more high impact moves and was flashier but Gilbert would sneak in an inside cradle to win the match. This was a decent little match and I might have to rewatch this later because it could be a nomination. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Tony Colon Spotlight match for Flair. Joyce Grable & Chico Santana vs. Velvet McIntyre & Kid Chocolate This wasn't much of anything. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Gerald Finley Another spotlight match for Flair. The Assassins (Don Bass & Dirty Rhodes) vs. Miguel Perez Sr. & Big Red Reese Big Red got more offense in here thus making this a pretty bad match. Victor Jovica vs. Enoc Giron Spotlight match for Jovica. The Assassins vs. Tony Colon & Gerald Finley Nothing much here. Eddie Gilbert vs. Masa Fuchi This is an interesting matchup but the video issues here sucked. Decent match but that's it. Velvet McIntyre vs. Joyce Grable Nothing match. Video issues hampered the rest of the disk and this era of WWC TV was right up there with Central States on the list of worst TV's of the era but still fun to watch.

July 13, 201312 yr comment_5551891 Chico Santana v. Kid Chocolate Yeah this wasn't any good. Really tedious. Kind of amusing that there was an actual wrestler named Chico Santana though. The Assassins (Don Bass & Dirty Rhodes) vs. Victor Jovica & Big Red Reese I thought this pretty much sucked. Big Red looks like a cross between Chico Che and North Georgia/East TN indie wrestler Cyrus The Destroyer, but he does nothing here and the rest of the guys are on cruise control. Eddie Gilbert vs. Gerald Finley This was a solid little Young Lionish type of match, but their were a couple of really distracting jump cut type things when watching and that combined with the utter lack of psychology make this a definite no go as a nomination. Decent stuff, but there are hundreds of matches every year that are decidedly better than this. Ric Flair v. Tony Colon Really fun Flair squash actually, though the VQ was shit. Joyce Grable & Chico Santana vs. Velvet McIntyre & Kid Chocolate There were some mildly amusing comedy spots in this, but nothing of real note. Ric Flair v. Gerald Finley Really fun match, these Flair squashes really were awesome showcases for him and he gave different little things each outing. Finley could work, which we had a ton more of him on tape. Loved the way the finish was done here. The Assassins v. Miguel Perez Sr./Big Red Reese Big Red is fucking terrible. Seriously he is Rocky Mountain Thunder level absurd in look and untrainedness, but at least Colon and co. had the good sense to try and hide him in tags and have him eat falls. Here he is supposed to miss a big splash and jumps long which means he accidentally hits it. Then he loses on a neckbreaker that he takes horribly. Up until that point this was actually a decent match and Perez Sr. looked pretty good in parts, but man is Reese awful. Victor Jovica vs. Enoc Giron First half of this was okay, second half was pretty silly and then they didn't even show the complete finish. Odd. The Assassins v. Gerald Finley/Tony Colon This was the beginning of a good match and then it ended. Nothing outstanding here, but had this been given real time I think they might have gotten there. I did really like the set up for the finish if nothing else. Eddie Gilbert v. Masa Fuchi Yep, the video issues crush this. I actually think it may have been pretty good, but the stop and go stuff destroyed any ability to be able to ascertain whether that is true or not. Velvet McIntyre vs. Joyce Grable Gave up on this because of disc/video issues and Kris is right that the rest of this is basically unwatchable.
May 22, 20169 yr comment_5754062 Disc starts with a Kid Chocolate vs. Chico Santana match. Okay for what it is, with the novelty being that there actually was a wrestler named Chico Santana. Tomorrow Sunday in Aguadilla (I'm guessing this is from September of 82, let's say Sept. 4): WWC World title - Carlos Colon defends against Kareem MuhammadInvader & Dory Funk vs. The MoondogsEddie Gilbert vs. Dick SteinbornCharlie Cook & Pierre Martel vs. The AssassinsGino Della Serra vs. Al CostelloTommy Gilbert vs. Mr. Fuchi Big Red & Victor Jovica vs. The Assassins - Good for a showcase on TV, it's pretty much all Jovica for the face side with Big red coming in to hit a couple of punches only to get pinned by a loaded headbutt. Interview with Charlie Cook and Pierre Martel about their match against The Assassins. Eddie Gilbert vs. Jerry Finley - Really good match, I think this is from September of 1982. Interview with Gino Della Serra about why he has come to Puerto Rico and his upcoming match with Al costello. Ric Flair squash win over Tony Colon. There's a brief clip of an ICW show that was shown on channel 4 here in Puerto Rico. New show starts with a mixed tag match between Velvet McIntyre & Kid Chocolate vs. Joyce Grable & Chico Santana. Comedy match. You can tell it's from the same tapings that had the matches from the previous show since you see the same woman with the fan in the crowd. Let's say this show is 9/11/82. Tomorrow in Aguadilla: Carlos Colon & The Invader vs. The MloondogsNo DQ Rematch - Pierre Martel vs. Kareem MuhammadNo Time Limit Rematch - Eddie Gilbert vs. Dick SteinbornRay Apollon & Victor Jovica vs. The AssasinsGino Della Serra vs. Don Kentand other bouts. Ric Flair squash win over Jerry Finley. The Assassins win over Miguel Perez Sr. and Big Red. I enjoyed this, Perez looked good in there and Big Red's botches were fun. Interview with Gino Della Serra abut his match against Don Kent. Victor Jovica vs. Enoc Giron - Jovica's more spry than I thought he was during this time. It was going along fine until that nerve hold by Giron. Good showcase for Jovica. Woah, some clip of a local televangelist appears. This appears to have also been on the source tape. Okay, back to wrestling with what I guess is a new show. Let's say this is 9/12/82. The Assassins win over Tony Colon and Jerry Finley. More competitive than one would think but needed more time. Barrabas interview with World tag champs the Moondogs about their upcoming match Fridaycin Cidra where Invader is teaming up with Johnny Rivera to face the Moondogs. This Friday in Cidra: WWC World title - Carlos Colon defends against Kareem Mohammad Invader & Johnny Rivera vs. The Moondogs Pierre Martel & Eddie Gilbert vs. The Assassins No titme limit rematch - Gino Della Serra vs. Dick Steinborn Hercules Ayala vs. Rocky Tamayo and other bouts. Eddie Gilbert vs. Masa Fuchi - Matwork and hold working to start. Pretty good match although it needed to be a bit longer for a nomination. On my disc I didn't have any issues with the video quality. Gilbert wins after a kneelift. Carlos Colon interview about his upcoming title defense. He tells Rickin that he knows that when he won the World title he made a promise to defend this in all of the towns in Puerto Rico and he has done that so far. Carlos says that he turned down an offer to defend the title in Hawaii after the reception he had last week in Cidra so he could defend the title before the public in Cidra. Velvet McIntyre vs. Joyce Grable - Not bad, a solid women's match. McIntyre wins by shifting her weight on a bodyslam attempt and Grable falling over. Assassins interview but only one of them. They have not been on the island long and are the current NA tag champs. Gino Della Serra interview about his match on Friday. Last week was time limit draw against Steinborn, this time there is no time limit. Miguel Perez Sr. vs. Moondog 1 - Someone in the crowd is making dog barking sounds to taunt the Moondog. Perez works over the arm. Moondog 2 is at ringside enjoying his bone. Moondog 1 takes over and eventually gets the win. New show. Gino DellaSerra vs. Rocky Tamayo. Win for Della Serra after an airplane spin. Steinborn tried to attack Della Serra after the match but gets an airplane spin and dropkicked out of the ring.Let's say this is 9/21/82. Mad dog Lafaib with Barrabas defeats Enoc Giron. Lafaib wins with a superplex. Tomorrow Sunday in Aguadilla: Grudge Match - Invader & Johnny Rivera vs. The Moondogs Gino Della Serra vs. Dick Steinborn Pierre Martel vs. Assassin #2 Eddie Gilbert vs. Assassin #1 Victor Jovica vs. Rocky Tamayo and other bouts. The Assassins vs. Eddie Gilbert and Terry Allen - This match has video issues. Gilbert plays face in peril for the bulk of the match. Allen gets tagged in and less than a minute later falls victim to the loaded headbutt. Gino Della Serra interview. Rickin tells Gino that Steinborn earlier had said that he was only going to the ring to congratulate Della Serra and was attacked unprovoked. Gino has some words about not trusting the Junior heavyweight champion Dick Steinborn and that he'll defeat him tomorrow. Show ends and we get the ICW show opening with Spanish voiceover narration.
