December 24, 201014 yr Author comment_5460978 I'm guessing Cactus agreed to work this show before signing with the WWF? Decent as far as these types of matches go, but I've seen him in way better.
January 25, 201114 yr comment_5463028 Not a good representation of either man's talent. They basically did a sick spot exhibition, which probably looked much more impressive then than it is now. Good garbage match, but they didn't click that well. I'm not sure what the deal was, but wasn't Quinones working with WWF a bit in 1996 ? He brought them the HeadHunters for the Rumble and a few house show (there's a really good Head Hunter vs Leif cassidy & Aldo Montoya match somewhere). Cactus already had the Mankind outfit (at least the boots and pants) and haircut at this point.

The crowd are totally in awe of the Headhunters as they pull out all their high spots performed at 400+lbs.
January 27, 201510 yr comment_5651662 This was pretty good, but as smart a worker as Foley is (no, really) neither he nor Kanemura quite have Onita's flair for the dramatic in this setting. There is some really good work, though, like the battle on the apron that ends with Cactus' plunge into the wood and glass, and some good near-falls. Middle of the road as far as these things go, I'd say.
March 18, 201510 yr comment_5659295 I liked this a good deal as a death match gore match, it built well and I liked the multiple use of the weapon pits as so many times in these matches they build to this dangerous weapon spot, hit it and then just move on. Here you had multiple bumps and dives into the weapons around the ring before things settled down with the barbed wire in the ring. Felt like a good war of a match that still showed some restraint. ***1/4
October 26, 20177 yr comment_5817935 They don't waste too much time before getting to the hardcore spots. This wasn't exceptional, but definitely good. One relatively minor spot that I liked a lot was Kanemura's apron dropkick.
