Posted December 5, 201014 yr comment_5459405 Tommy Dreamer v. Justin Credible Pre-match RVD attacks Dreamer so most of this is Dreamer In Peril. Jason keeps getting involved here. Ultimately Beulah and Dreamer hit stereo DDTS for the finish. Watchable at best. Erin O'Grady v. Spike Dudley Man did the crowd shit on this. This one started with a handshake which is not a good way to win over an ECW crowd but I thought for a pretty colorless face v. face match that got less than ten minutes this was pretty good. Lots of roll ups and typical babyface spots before Spike targets O'Grady's arm. Spike did his diving arm hotshot and dropkick to the arm combo which I liked a lot in the Axl match and thought worked well here too. O'Grady ends up throwing Spike to the floor as an act of desperation and they sort of work a strange deal where the guy working a quasi-lerpochaun gimmick is the power act in a power v. speed match. O'Grady hits a big powerbomb at one point for a nearfall. The Acid Drop was done as a desperation nearfall. The finish was O'Grady missing a turnbuckle charge hurt arm first and getting rolled up. This was not the sharpest match, but there was really good psych, some nifty mat work and Spike doing a Fujiwara take down. For those reasons, and the novelty of seeing Spike v. Crash Holly in 97 ECW, I will pass this forward. Tommy Rogers/Jerry Lynn v. Mikey Whipwreck/Chris Chetti Another face v. face match. Chetti gets worked over early by a pretty spirited Lynn/Rogers combo. Actually I loved Chetti's comeback as he did an overhead judo throw on Rogers to cut his momentum. Mikey comes in and I also like the original exchange he had with Rogers though it was pretty simple stuff. Rogers knees Mikey hard as fuck in the head and then punches Chetti in the face. Then Mikey gets tossed to the floor hard and Lynn tosses him into the guardrail. Holy shit, Rogers/Lynn are working heel! Mikey ends up firing back and gets Rogers out on the floor with a slingshot clothesline. Then he hits a baseball slide. Rogers ends up isolated and takes a nice looking dropkick and then a shitty looking dropkick from a seated position. Rogers gets up and goes for the tag and Mikey knees him to the floor but he tags Lynn on the way out. Lynn powerbombs Mikey for a nearfall but Chetti comes in and breaks it up. Rogers ends up pulling Chetti to the floor where they have a really good looking forearm exchange of all things. Lynn and Rogers hit a devastation device with a cross body instead of a clothesline. Mikey ends up taking out Lynn, but Rogers hits the Tomikaze on Chetti who is by himself immediately after. Totally off the wall match. I'm not sure how good it really was, but it was incredibly fun to watch. Chetti worked unusually stiff and it was fun to watch these guys work varying shades of heel. FBI v. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten Pre-match Rich is cursing out ringside fans and punts a chair so hard it almost sails into the crowd. The early stalling here is classic with the FBI doing poses, Guido bailing out of the ring to hug Rich and Rich provoking a "Wheres My Pizza?" chant which makes me chuckle every time, as the Southerners are basically making the Northeastern ethnics shit talk themselves. Guido starts shadow boxing at Axl who is on the apron looking at him like he's a retard. Axl brings a sign from a fan in the ring that says "if you are scared, say you are scared" and then dry humps the air in Guido's direction. Balls finally gets his hand on Guido and they do the same bit from the previous show with Mahoney spanking Guido and biting his ass. They even do the same Axl baseball slide spot. Axl ends up working FIP again in nearly identical circumstances. Rich gets on the mic and says "Go Axl Go huh? He's going to Little Italy's House!" They do the same Axl mini-hulk up comeback which I liked again. Cool spot with Guido getting crotched on the top and then Tracy missing a corner charge head first to lead to the Balls hot tag. Dudleys end up running in and helping FBI win with help of Jeff Jones as ref. Good match, but a lesser version of the previous shows match. D-Von/Bubba Dudley v. John Kronus/New Jack This came straight out of the last match and was really short. Jack and Kronus won after some plunder shots, a ref fight and a 450. Chris Candido v. Malicious(?) This was a really fun little match. Malicious or whatever the fuck his name is was a fun babyface as he just whipped Candido around with headscissors and others standard babyface fare. Candido gave him a lot which was shocking for a no name. Candido's punches were awesome in this. Weird piledriver spot, but the superplex finish was epic and perfect for this sort of match. Fun for a throwaway match. Taz v. Danny Morrison Total sqaush. Morrison is Doring and Doring took a sick bump or two. Rob Van Dam v. Sandman RVD blindsides Sandman during his entrance with a diving chairshot knocking him into the crowd. Sandman is busted open and takes over on RVD legdropping him on the guardrail wildly and suplexing a table onto him. I was started to get into this when we get a fucking screwjob from Jeff Jones and a stolen finish. Boo. Bam Bam Bigelow v. Shane Douglas This had some fun spots, but I didn't think much of it as a match. Bam Bam did hit a nice powerbomb and Shane's table bump was pretty cool I guess. Overall it felt flat.
