The announcers put over Eddy's tour of New Japan quite a bit. This is a really fun power/speed match that's really fast-paced. A little sloppy in spots, but the match still worked. The highlight is Barbarian's crazy top rope overhead throw, which Eddy bumps huge off of, all the way to the floor. The finish is also well done, with Barbarian trying a top rope superplex and Eddy countering to a pinfall.

 

In the post-match when Gene interviews Eddy, he is wearing a navy/white striped blazer and a red tie with white polkadots!

Nice quick little match. Not a lot to say, except EG never disappoints.

The crowd is popping hard for Barbie's bombs. Basically Barbie killing Eddie with huge spots until he tries one too many. A little bit too much "slipping on a banana peel" victory to me, but they were still pushing Eddie above his weightclass, which was good.

Pretty fun little TV match--Eddie's huracanrana was sloppy but it actually made sense in context, with Eddie having to resort to basically muscling the Barbarian over. Those who are anti-Zbyszko will have a lot of ammo in this one, by the way. He provides his awesome "Darwinian man..." quote but also shits over Guerrero to an excessive degree, even for a heel announcer and even after the win.

This was a good way to fill time for Nitro and again Eddy has really developed it feels like this year into one of the best workers in the world. Some good big vs. little spots and this went just the right amount of time. **1/4

Really fun match and that delivers what you might hope on paper. Eddy uses his speed and skill and Barbarian hits some cool power moves. They do botch a hurricanrana and the crowd lets them have it a bit. Cool ending. Eddy's post-match promo sure was pretty lame; he would come a long way.

That top rope belly to belly was really awesome, as was the Barbie powerbomb.  I also caught Zbysko doing his best Gorilla Monsoon impression after the win.  I won't hold it against him too much as I very much enjoy Larry Z.
