FBI v. Balls Mahoney/Nova

FBI bullshit made this pretty watchable, but at this point I have soured on the ECW "singles match turns into tag match" formula. Rich did take his great guardrail bump though.

Danny Doring/Roadkill v. Chris Chetti/Tommy Rogers

Decent little match. Rogers has a tendency to look out of place but he didn't here. I thought the finish with the premature bell ringing and duel heel roll ups was silly but fairly well done. Good enough action.

Spike Dudley v. Big Dick Dudley

This is basically the set up for a big angle with the Dudleys and New Jack putting Gertner through a table with a massive balcony dive.

Super Crazy v. Tajiri

This was fun as hell. There was no pretense of psychology in this and it was a basically a total spotfest, but it was laid out well and the spots all looked dynamic and exciting. We got a rolling surfboard from Crazy, a really cool vaulting dive from him, some moonsaults, et. Tajiri brought some nasty headkicks, rewind elbow, his vault hilo, et. Opening mat exchanges with the knuckle lock roll throughs and escapes looked really awesome and was a good way to set the tempo for the whole match. Tajiri won with a German which was semi-surprising but fitting. Not sure if this even went ten minutes, but it was a really well presented match. Sort of a "sampler" type bout for what these guys were capable of and well worth thinking about for the set.

Taz v. El Diablo

Squash.

One Man Gang v. Tommy Dreamer

Tommy telling snap jokes pre-match was ridiculous. Gang come in and immediately starts bumping around for Tommy, selling his ass off for punches, et. Gang comes back and has Tommy in the ropes but Tommy pulls him to the floor. The crowd is really hot for this match and they go back and fourth on the outside with Gang taking some cup of beer punches, some guardrail shots and some postings and Tommy getting punched and drilled with a nasty chairshot. Tommy goes to hit Gang with a chair while he's up against the ring post but Gang ducks so Tommy catches him on the rebound which was a pretty clever spot. Tommy teases throwing Gang into the crowd but Gang hits him low and then crotches him on the guardrail. Back in the ring and Tommy takes a pretty sick looking bump on the drop toehold chair spot. Tommy ends up hitting a drop toehold/chair spot of his own and goes to the back and gets a ladder. Gang cuts him off at the past but as he tries to bring the ladder into the ring Tommy baseball slides it into him. They go back and fourth missing spots with the ladder and Dreamer ends up slingshotting the ladder into Gangs face. Dreamer ends up taking his ladder bump in the corner. He tries to pick up Gang and slam him but he falls down and OMG gets a nearfall. Gang starts working over the back with elbow drops. Dreamer tries to make a comeback but eats a pretty tight looking clothesline. Gang goes up top but Dreamer catches him and slams him. Dreamer goes for a sunset flip and Gang tries to sit down on it but Dreamer moves. OMG takes the corner ladder bump and Dreamer slams him. Dreamer goes for a DDT but Gang counters only for Dreamer to hit one. Credible ends up running in and caning Dreamer leading to a Gang roll up win.

Jerry Lynn v. Justin Credible

This was a really by the numbers match. Felt like a cut and paste job from their previous bouts slightly modified by a Dreamer pay back run in finish. Not very good.

D-Von/Bubba Dudley v. Rob Van Dam/Sabu

They attempted to work a structured tag here with RVD as FIP. I admire the attempt but it didn't really work. I did like some of Bubba's offense and there was a cool table spot but overall this was a bunch of fishes out of water.
