Hogan does an awesome promo making Bischoff look at the camera and say Hogan is a bigger icon and bigger star than Piper, and that he's afraid of Piper and that if they both stood on their bank accounts that Hogan would make Piper look like a midget.

Then, DDP comes out for an interview and is quickly interrupted by Hall and Nash, this time with Syxx and Giant out too.

Nash quotes 2001: A Space Odyssey as the NWO makes elusive comments about how Page obviously doesn't know what's about to happen tonight, which is an interesting setup for the big angle later in the show.

Great fake (in hindsight) intimidation segment with Hogan & Bischoff, who's doing a terrific job here too.

The DDP & Outsiders bit is a very clever foreshadowing of the money angle at the end. It's amazing that at this point they paid so much attention to details like this, and then at one point they totally lost the plot. This episode of Nitro was just impressive with how they worked the nWo stuff.

Cameo from Hogan, as he intimidates Bischoff into declaring him a bigger icon and richer star than Roddy Piper. Bischoff also says that Piper hasn't been able to be contacted since last week. Hmm.

Meanwhile DDP is out for another interview and is again confronted by the NWO, who quiz DDP on if he found out anything since last week. When it's clear that he hasn't, Nash gloats some more.

Nash is quoting 2001?! What a world...

All the wwe documentaries and all the articles and everything always talk about how influential the NWO were when they first started and blah blah blah but man it's so true, and the booking is really impressive. Things make sense, they pay off angles, what a run. I love watching DDP grow every week, it's a great ride watching his rise.

Hogan rushes the booth as Heenan scrams. Hogan demands Bischoff say he is a bigger star than Piper and they bury Roddy.

DDP does another good interview and they keep the intrigue up for him vs the Outsiders. A lot of moving parts on Nitro right now but most everything is still landing extremely well and building intrigue. I watched this episode on the network and it also included fun Eddy vs Benoit and Parka vs Juvy matches.

What an electric episode of Nitro this was. Hogan is so awesome in his promo, I knew Piper/Hogan happened but I never knew how huge of a match it felt like. We then go right to DDP whose interaction with the NWO continues to be legitimately intriguing.

Hogan bullying Bischoff (not really though) into saying bad things about Piper was really great.  What a tremendous heel moment.  This whole DDP thing is so good.  I know the nWo eventually goes so far the wheels and most of the car comes off.  When they were fresh and hitting on all cylinders it was something special.

There are 2 distinct parts of the nWo though.  Hall & Nash with their buddy Syxx and the Hogan crew.  Giant seems to hang out with both.
