Posted May 27, 200520 yr comment_2285387 I included all of the possibilities while omitting re-issues.
May 27, 200520 yr comment_2285788 I actually was really bored recently and played and completed them all in the span of a month. I was really rather surprised that Majora's Mask ended up being my favorite and just a bit ahead of my old favorite, ALttP.
May 27, 200520 yr Author comment_2286122 I go with A Link to the Past. With the exception of the first one, it is the only one I felt I needed to play more than once... like 100 times more.
May 27, 200520 yr comment_2286394 Gotta second Majora's Mask. That was one fun pain in the ass, aight.
May 27, 200520 yr comment_2288358 I voted A Link to the Past, just because it's the only game in the series I keep coming back to. I don't know what it is about Ocarina of Time but, once I played through it, I just don't have the urge to go back, which makes me think that it hasn't aged as well as LttP has.
May 27, 200520 yr comment_2288406 Wow, you managed to not put the one game on there that I was going to vote for in Link's Awakening.
May 27, 200520 yr comment_2290300 You listed OoT twice. That said, I am heavily biased when I say A Link to the Past. My favourite game of all time. Ocarina of Time is second, followed by Link's Awakening. But I must admit, as much as I loved LttP, there's nothing quite like emerging in OoT's Hyrule Field for the first time. The music, detail and open space lend such a feeling of freedom to it. Also, I found LA to be the most emotionally engaging for whatever reason...
May 27, 200520 yr comment_2292774 This vote is totally biased, but for me it's easily Ocarina of Time -- that is my favorite game of all-time. Maybe if I would play the previous titles, it would change my vote but for the time being OoT it is for me.
June 2, 200520 yr comment_2355645 What a hard decision. The first Zelda is awesome. Zelda II I feel is criminally underrated. I'd actually vote for it but I know it won't win so I'll vote for something else. Zelda III is just great overall Majora's Mask frustrated me at the beginning so much that I couldn't get anywhere at all and just gave up. Never played Windwaker because I heard they took out two dungeons to make the game easier for everyone. The Oricana of Time is one of the best ever. I think that'll get my vote. You truly feel like you're playing something special especially at the end of it. For the future I think Twilight Princess I feel has a great chance of becoming the best Zelda game ever.
June 4, 200520 yr comment_2384941 This is actually really tough for me. A lot of people sleep on Link's Awakening since it was on the Game Boy but that game was badass. I think that A Link to the Past took everything that was great about Link's Awakening, for the most part, and made it better. So, I think it's the best game. The original Zelda and the Adventures of Link get lost in the shuffle of all the N64 and beyond titles as well. I still hold them higher than the post-SNES games. Although I did play through The Ocarina of Time once. I'd rank my top five in the following order: 1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES) 2. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GB) 3. The Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link (NES) 4. The Legend of Zelda (NES) 5. The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64) Thus, I voted for A Link to the Past.
June 4, 200520 yr comment_2388826 I think that A Link to the Past took everything that was great about Link's Awakening, for the most part, and made it better. So, I think it's the best game. A Link to the Past actually came 2 or 3 years before Link's Awakening. I see why you'd think the opposite though; what with the power bracelets and such.
June 4, 200520 yr comment_2389007 ...and the fact that I played A Link to the Past first. I never thought about it.
June 5, 200520 yr comment_2401435 I voted for The Adventure of Link (that is the second one they made, right? Where it's a side-scrolling view while you're in battles?) because it's the only Link game I ever played for any amount of time. I can remember almost having a heart attack when I finally got my hands on that fucking hamer. I was stuck for the longest time because I didn't have the hammer, and I had no clue where it was, until someone told me how to find it. I think I then managed to get to around the 8 or 9th castle (where there's like, lava and ghosts or some shit) before the game got too hard for me again, so I gave up. It was fun though, and now I kinda wanna play it.
June 5, 200520 yr comment_2401916 I never beat the last boss in the game. I couldn't even do it with Game Genie. He was just too damn hard. Game Genie only had an infinite lives code, not an infinite energy or magic code. I could beat mirror Link but then I had to have armor, jump and other shit to fight the last boss since he hovers around and you have to hit him in the head. Never beat him.
June 6, 200520 yr comment_2411216 Unless it is the Phillips crap games, I love all the Zelda's equally. I need to replay them all.
