FBI v. Bill Wiles/Super Nova

This is interesting as Wiles is wearing his ring crew get up and Meanie is managing him and Nova. Lots of typically fun FBI taunt/stall stuff early, my favorite being Tracy's moonwalk after a break with Wiles. Wiles getting the best of the FBI with rapid fire armdrags, then hitting a fat man plancha, leading to a nutty Nova flip splash to the floor was a cool sequence. Wiles FIP was well structured and a decent effort, but try as he might Wiles is not a terribly compelling figure in that role. This was a good match, but it's nothing near a top level FBI match.

Danny Doring/Roadkill v. Chris Chetti/Jerry Lynn

Man alive the early Chetti/Doring esxchange was comically bad. Lynn/Roadkill exchange had some fun spots and Lynn ends up going FIP. Match ends up breaking down a bit. Roadkill hits his springboard elbow which was nice. Really shitty looking spike DDT on Roadkill for finish. Eh.

Doug Furnas v. Rob Van Dam

This was going along okay as a fairly decent back and fourth match til Sabu came out and started in with bullshit at which point I no longer gave two fucks.

Spike Dudley v. Bubba Dudley'

This was a pretty good match. What I liked about this is that the heat segment was long and developed for a relatively short match. They did some really effective hope spots where Spike appeared to have Bubba reeling and was seconds away from eating one of Spike's big spots only to have Bubba cut him off every time with something brutal. What I did not like was the shitty flash finish after needless D-Von intereference. Oh well.

Justin Credible/Jason v. Tommy Dreamer/Mikey Whipwreck

Some of this is hard to see because the Arena is dark. Credible and Jason's respective car crash bumps off the stag area were pretty cool as was Credible's slingshot into a chair Mikey was holding. Dreamer goes FIP which I think was an odd decision and frankly a poor one. There's a weird edit in this shortly after the hot tag and it's hard to say what we missed but I doubt it was any good. Match devolves into stupid run-in bullshit. Yuck.

D-Von Dudley v. New Jack

The best part about this was Pee Wee Moore pleading with New Jack not to use a closed fist in a match that was 80% plunder shots.

John Kronus/Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten v. Chris Candido/Shane Douglas/Bam Bam Bigelow

Okay match that I believe we have on tv.

Sabu v. Too Cold Scorpio

These two almost always have good matches together and this was no exception. One of the the things I like about their matches is that Scorp has big spots but works at a deliberate pace which means you get a real heat section plus big spots and the pay off is some cool Sabu car crash style stuff. Scorp hits a nasty looking standing roundhouse at one point, a really sweet flip legdrop from the second rope, et. He does an insane looking spot where he curls forward on a Vader Bomb and ends up in a flip senton landing. Scorp takes too long setting up a superplex and gets crotched leading to a spot where Sabu rana's him off the rope he is straddling. Scorp does a good jobbing taking Sabu's offense and making it look brutal, including a clothesline to the back of the head and the old Air Sabu staple. Sabu ends up going for a top rope rana but crotches himself and gets knocked to the floor by a clothesline. Scorp ends up losing control when Fonzy trips him off the ropes and Sabu sets up a table. Naturally the match has gone fairly smoothly so Sabu nearly fucks up the table spot but it works out okay as Scorp sits up on his semi-flubbed legdrop attempt sending Sabu crashing to the floor. This has a stupid ass finish with RVD running out and helping Sabu win and it was not the best match these guys had but it was very good.
