Posted December 9, 201014 yr comment_5460008 Tommy Rogers v. Angel Nothing more than a jump start opener. I do like Rogers in this role as vet stiffing rookie and teaching him how to work, but this wasn't much to see really. Super Nova/Chris Chetti v. FBI "I know Chris Chetti's from this town, cause he's a big faggot like all of ya'll." Big Don's words of wisdom. Incidentally this is a rare FBI match with both Sal E and Tommy Rich as seconds. Nova grabs the mic and calls Rich a fat fucking drunk, so Rich lifts up his shirt to reveal his belly and spits at Nova. Nova getting worked over by Guido early including a spot where Guido teases a top rope move but lands on his feet, gives the Italian "fuck you" and then stomps Nova in the face. Nova ends up coming back with a powerbomb. Guido backs into this corner face first into Smothers crotch which prompts a "you suck dick" chant. They do the spot with Smothers competing against Nova trying to work the crowd which is always good for a laugh. Nice sequence with Smothers and Chetti that ends with a Chetti plancha and naturally Rich taking over with a guardrail smash on Chetti right afterward. Chetti FIP was pretty decent but the finishing run was really terrible with the faces offense looking crappy and a Sal E assisted win. Rod Price v. Tommy Dreamer Jeff Jones come out with Price and does some mildly amusing pre-match mic work. That was the highlight of this. Boring match with a shit Credible run-in finish. Danny Doring v. Mikey Whipwreck Doring bumps for a badly whiffed Mikey kick and then fails to catch him on a plancha. Man this wasn't very good. Lots of interference spots and no real arc to the match. Ugh. Justin Credible v. Spike Dudley Okay. Really a poor use of Spike who didn't get to do nearly enough in this. One Man Gang v. Shane Douglas This was enjoyable. Gang is always good for some fun bumps and he just seems to have solid chemistry with the ECW guys. Nothing looked especially great, but Gang's face plant bump and blade job were good and I like that they kept him strong by having Douglas need to steal a win via roll up. Bubba/D-Von Dudley v. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten Fun match as it is just a brawl. Axl has the barbed wire bat and they actually use it fairly liberally. Lots of blood and a really fun atmosphere though these matches were a dime a dozen in ECW. Rob Van Dam v. Lance Storm This was all down hill after the opening mat exchange which was surprisingly sharp and fluid. Boring match that felt flat after the previous brawl had lit the Arena up.
