FBI v. Super Nova/Blue Meanie

God Tommy Rich is so fucking great pre-match, during the match holding his nose and calling fans smelly fat people, then calling the dance off segment with Meanie/Smothers where he calls Meanie a "chubby checker fatass" and introduces the segment by talking about the FBI's unfortunate 0-3 record in previous dance offs. Work in this early is good which is standard for the feud. Includes all the stapes including the teased Meanie dive, Nova going FIP after Rich guardrail spots, and FBI double teams. They do a totally bizarre double team with Smothers putting Nova up in fireman's carry position and Guido leaping off the top with a sunset flip powerbomb. I liked it but I bet others would hate it. Really out of character for the FBI either way. Smothers dancing around was really awesome. Really good teaser spot with Nova breaking a sunset flip attempt with a nice short leg drop. Heat section was good and led to a pretty decent hot tag from Meanie/Nova. I was not enamored with the actual finish, but the body of this was a lot of fun and featured some unique stuff and spins on previous matches.

Doug Furnas v. Spike Dudley

They start off establishing that Furnas is a huge mismatch power wise but Spike keeps on charging at him until Furnas kills him with a fucking release Razor's Edge! Then Furnas hits him a few seconds later with a sharp looking powerslam. Furnas is just playing with Spike and takes forever on a corner charge which sets up a Spike counteroffensive. Pretty good neckbreaker from Spike and he tries to follow up with a high cross body but Furnas catches him and kills him with a tombstone. Furnas pulls him up from the pin which I liked as that fits the theme and even Spike would have had no fucking business kicking out of that one. Spike reverses a belly to back and hits a flash acid drop for the finish. God damn it to hell. If this had been ten minutes long and continued with this theme it would have been a lock for the set.

Lance Storm v. Axl Rotten

Rotten bumping to the floor hard early, working the crowd on the mic to set up the brawling segment was pretty decent stuff. Axl tries hard to make a shitty Storm dropkick look good and then almost dies when Storm hits a springboard splash to the floor knocking Axl's head into the barricade in the process. Storm teases using a chair and curses out a fan instead. Storm hits a decent looking version of his corner splash but shortly thereafter gets killed by Axl's awesome reverse DDT/suplex finisher. Fun match actually.

D-Von/Bubba Dudley v. Chris Chetti/Jerry Lynn

Lynn did a corner charge dropkick in this early which has to be the most annoying thing I've seen him do in a non-RVD match for this project. They end up doing the spot where Chetti feeds Bubba's arm to D-Von on the blindside arm wringer which is always good for mild amusement. God there are some poorly executed tag spots in this. Man Dudleys tags from this era have a tendency to really drag and this is a great example of that. I applaud the attempt to work a structured match, but the FIP started too late and knowing Chetti was going to be the house of fire babyface was not inspiring.

Balls Mahoney v. Big Dick Dudley

Jesus what an utterly absurd line up this show has had so far. Balls took a nice leaping bump to the guardrail. Yep.

Bam Bam Bigelow v. John Kronus

Crowd chants "LT" at Bam Bam throughout. Bam Bam is clearly on cruise control here and doesn't give two fucks about putting in a half way decent performance. Kronus isn't any good but he at least works hard and throws some impact into his big bumps. Bammer doesn't do a single thing that required a modicum of athletic talent. Fuck this. Post-match New Jack destroys him and he takes New Jack down.

Rob Van Dam v. Chris Candido

These guys badly botch a rope running spot in the early going. Candido takes his big delayed bump to the floor and Van Dam follows it up with a fucking crazy dive. Looked like he was going for his hilo and chickened out mid-air resulting in a Psicosis style face first plancha that almost killed him. God damn Van Dam takes another crazy bump this time over a guardrail. Fonzy threatens to beat up a man in a wheelchair which was interesting. Candido ends up working a control segment on RVD which is mostly built around RVD taking decent looking bumps for fairly pedestrian looking moves. Sabu ends up running in, fucking up what little good will they had established with me.

Tommy Dreamer/Mikey Whipwreck v. Justin Credible/Jason

The crowd brawling in this one really bored the shit out of me. Hated the girls being the catalyst for the heel take over of the match to as it just seemed cheap. Bunch of bullshit with the refs and a shitty finish. This sucked.

Sabu v. Al Snow

Okay I laughed when Snow cut off a Sabu dive by throwing a chair at him even if it did look like shit. Couple of nice looking spots in this but really just a mess of shit thrown at the wall to see what would stick. Not much did.
