Ulf Herman v. Chris Chetti

The first part of this was actually fun with some cool spots. This got shittier as it went along and I really hated the stretch run but I had no expectations at all coming into this.

FBI v. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten

Rich fleeing from Axl and Balls when they hit the ring by diving under the bottom rope and taking a flat back bump on the floor was awesome. Rich is so pissed off by this that he demands Tracy manage for the night and takes the ring! They do a rope running spot but Rich bails to the floor and ends up in a shoving match with Tracy as they try and decided who is going to go forward in the match. Sure enough Tracy takes his spot on the apron. During all of this Guido is doing a hilarious dance which he then teaches to Smothers. He dances tot he point that Axl tags in Balls who then spins him around like a ball room dancer and clothesline him to shit, following it up with a nasty looking back drop driver. Then he and Axl hit a diving forearm/powerbomb combo for a nearfall. Axl mocks Guido's dance and they end up doing a drop toehold/legdrop combo. Balls goes for the nutcracker suite but Guido slips out and slams him backwards by the hair and tags in Smothers who hops in the ring and moonwalks around like a jackass before walking over to Balls and asking "where's all that Balls now?" They do a leapfrog spot and Tracy catches him with a superkick and then dances around again but Balls catches him with his own side kick after another rope running spot. Balls ends up taking a big bump to the guardrail off of a pull down rope spot from Guido and Rich gets into the action and then runs over to a fan to talk shit to him. FBI work their full blown cut off the ring/triple team/heel schtick really well. Love Smothers on the fake tag spot behind the refs back and Rich stalking around ringside talking about Balls not being so bad after all. Nice double shoulder tackle from the FBI and the crowd is getting really fired up for a comeback. Every time they pan to Rich he's got a shit eating grin on his face and it makes you really wish that there was a camera that just followed him around collecting his quips and barbs with the fans. Balls catches Tracy coming off the ropes and slams him down and then goes up for a legdrop but gets tossed off and then hit with Tracy's diving reverse elbow which was a good nearfall. Axl comes in after a powerbomb from Balls and they end up doing a teased screwjob finish with Jeff Jones before Finnegan counts the fall. This was really good and not totally identical to the other matches they had.

Jerry Lynn v. Justin Credible

They shoot an angle before this with Credible destroying Mikey and Spike which just pissed me off. Really good early action in this and the match had a serious feeling of excitement to it. Lynn using the table as a vault for his insane flip plancha into the crowd looked great here and his Liger bomb nearfall was really good too. Nicole Bass comes out and distracts Lynn which ends up turning the tide of the match to Credible. Really senseless, crowd killing, Credible chinlock. Lynn did some good stuff on his comeback, but the control segment from Credible really killed this one for me.

Taz v. Droz

Squash.

Chris Candido v. Al Snow

There were parts of this I liked okay, but the great bulk of it was really boring. Snow is a strange wrestler in that he has flashy stuff in his arsenal but it never looks as good as it sounds on paper.

Shane Douglas v. Lance Storm

Better than expected match in some ways as I thought it was structured pretty well and Storm's offense looked better than normal for the most part. I hated the stretch run though and like most Douglas matches it felt like it went on forever. Also the finish sucked.

Bam Bam Bigelow v. New Jack

This was the standard new Jack propccentric brawl but more fun than normal because of the fact that it is Bigelow exchanging shots with him and everything in this came across like a death blow. Finish was stupid and underwhelming but I actually liked the body as formulaic and simplistic as it was.

Bubba/D-Von Dudley v. Sandman/Tommy Dreamer

The early comedy stuff with Bubba being too afraid to tag in and work grappling exchanges with Sandman just came off as stupid to me even if the payoff of Bubba screaming "I'm not a pussy!" at the top of his lungs to the crowd was amusing. Anyhow, match as a whole was boring as piss and a sloppy mess.
