Posted December 12, 201014 yr comment_5460228 D-Von Dudley v. Bubba Dudley This is not as hard hitting as there other match but it is pretty fucking stiff. They have a great recurring spot throughout this where Bubba will be getting wailed on and he just lays out D-Von with vicious open hand slaps that sound like shotgun blasts. Bubba's big avalanche splash is enhanced here with a ridiculous dry humping taunt. Loved the spot with Bubba blatantly wobbling the ropes to crotch D-Von and the subsequent dropkick into the diving chairshot looked cool. D-Von's diving headbutt was actually a really good nearfall and Bubba's desperation cutter was a good finish. Elementally this was sound and is at least worth a look. Taz v. Spike Dudley Spike's monkey flip was really awesome looking and his forearms looked super tight. Taz also took his rolling senton and took it well which was fairly shocking. God damn can Spike take a clothesline like no other. Taz hit a really sweet fallaway into a bridge for a nearfall. Spike escaping a suplex and going to the nuts for his rollup counters was pretty cool too. Did not care for how little Taz sold the Acid Drop, but otherwise I liked this a good bit for what it was. Shane Douglas/Francine v. Tommy Dreamer/Beulah This was a good, simple, three part match. First part is Dreamers leg getting attacked and worked over by Douglas which was well set up and solidly executed. Second part was Dreamer's comeback run on Shane. Third part was stretch run which saw both the men fall to the floor, a cat fight, Shane hit a belly to belly on Beulah and then Dreamer with a DDT finish. Good layout here made this a solid enough match despite the obvious limitations on paper. Steve Richards v. Roadkill Good little match. Very short, but Richards gave Roadkill a little bit of it and then finished him off with a powerbomb and a superkick. Enjoyable. Louie Spicolli v. Chris Chetti Another fun short match. Chetti got great air on the missed legdrop and the finishing spot with the bob and weave punch ducking leading to a nasty DVD was well done. Brian Lee v. Pitbull 2 Relatively quick brawl. Entertaining for what it was. They brawl outside, and go through a few tables. Finish with Pitbull hitting the overhead slam off the top through a table looked good. Post-match D-Von runs out and then New Jack leading to a wild brawl around the Arena. Eliminators v. Chris Candido/Mikey Whipwreck This is an interesting match as Whipwreck/Candido is an oddball team. Most of the stuff in the early going came across as super fake looking and inauthentic but was still fun to watch because of the way you could see Candido in particular trying to adapt to work an Elims style match. Mikey ends up going for a superplex but the Elims block it and he plunges headfirst through a table to set up the FIP. They end up controlling Mikey and working him over with a bizarre sequence of legsweeps. Some how this leads to them working the arm over which Mikey sells his ass off for. Kronus hits his flip leg droop but walkls away from a nearfall. They tease a hot tag but the Elims hit a Total Elimination for the finish. Strange match and the worst match on the show so far though not something that was boring on any level. Super Nova v. Rob van Dam Contest between masters of the bullshit offensive move. This is 90 percent chair based offense and is needlessly long for what just amounted to a glorified squash of Nova. Massive brawl instigated by a J.T. Smith/Shane Douglas confrontation of all things. Raven v. Sandman Wild, back and fourth match, which made good use of Raven's stooges. Tons of prop spots, all of which looked good, a longish over the top stretch run, a Meanie sault, et. Not a great match but fun.
