Posted December 12, 201014 yr comment_5460246 Bad Crew v. D-Von/Bubba Dudley God damn Bubba was over. The opening explosion on the Bad Crew was a lot of fun, especially Bubba's insane avalanche splash. I expected this to be a full blown squash but the Bad Crew actually take over on Bubba in short order and Bubba made a hell of an FIP for a guy his size. Bubba's nose gets busted open and they punch him right in it. Bad Crew had good offense in general and they hit a nice flip splash among other things. D-Von gets a hot tag after Bubba gets his foot up on a corner chair charge. Bubba ends up flipping out with chairshots and a diving elbow on the floor, while D-Von works over the other Bad Crew in the ring. D-Von takes a fucking insane bump leaping head first and flying wildly and fast as fuck to the floor. Bubba is isolated the Bad Crew hit a nice heartattack clothesline but D-Von hits the ring and destroys the ref with a chairshot for the DQ. This was seriously fun. I like Bad Crew and the Duds from this era were good. FBI v. Devon Storm/Sal Bellemo This was a lot of fun. Storm is without a partner because the Bad Crew attacked Damian Kane the night before. Pre-match stuff is all fun. Storm's early house of fire stuff was cool including a spot where he powerbombed Guido onto J.T. and then hit a moonsault onto both. FBI take over was good as they hit some nasty looking stuff. Really loved Guido's forearms to the face. Bellemo walking out and becoming Storm's partner mid-match was totally bizarre but pretty awesome as he came in a house of fire and even hit a dropkick. Cool enough finishing run with Storm hitting a diving blockbuster type move for a fall that was broken up with a sick looking Guido knee drop. Fun match. Paul Varlens v. Jason Hansen Holy shit this was lame. Varlens throws a terrible elbow and wins in about five seconds. Absolutely hilariously shitty. Steve Richards v. Mikey Whipwreck Mikey's opening barrage was cool, especially the flip plancha onto Meanie. Cool spot with Mikey elevating into an electric chair position and they do a cool bit with Richards spinning around as Mikey tries to cinch in a rana which Richards drops into a powerbomb to take over. Richards hits a nice butterfly suplex and fall away slam. Mikey cuts off his momentum with a rocker dropper, but misses a follow up splash. Richards hits a really good looking powerbomb for a nearfall. Mikey counters with a DDT and goes back up top but Richards catches him with a super kick that sends Mikey crashing to the floor. Mikey fires up out of a chinlock but gets DDT'ed coming off the ropes. Meanie comes into the ring and goes up top and Mikey ends up crotching Richards on the top ropes which crotches Meanie at the same time. Mikey with a superkick onto Richards and then bulldogs Meanie's head into Stevie's crotch. Mikey fights to the top and hits a top rope rana for the finish. This was very much a "your turn, my turn" match, but it was a GOOD your turn, my turn match. I don't think this stacks up with the very best couple of matches these guys had, but I do think it is still worth consideration. Gangstas v. Eliminators JIP. Pretty much the brawl you would expect though Mustapha hitting a plancha and taking a sick powerbomb on what looked like a pool table made this more interesting than normal. Kronus also killed the ref with a lariat. Finish was lame as fuck. Bruise Brothers v. Hack Myers/Axl Rotten Well this did have some stiff clotheslines and some of the chair brawling was at least amusing. Not a total disaster. Taz v. Sandman Basically an angle/squash due to Sandman's injury. Pitbull 2 v. Shane Douglas This was pre-Francine heel turn. I liked Pitbull's suplex. Douglas hit a running high kick in this which was utterly bizarre. After several minutes 2 focuses on the arm which is sort of strange. They badly botch what may have been a headscissors attempt by Douglas. There is a small clip in this. Goes on too long like most Douglas matches and ends with a scoop powerbomb from 2. Eh. Raven v. Tommy Dreamer Some of the crowd brawling in this was okay, but it really goes off the rails when they go back to the ring and get into the ref bumps, stevie working as ref, Axl working as ref, et. Pretty stupid.
