Posted December 13, 201014 yr comment_5460262 Some of the early exchanges in this are fun with a good looking high kick, Jericho getting caught in a spinkick attempt and powerbombed, et. Pitbull catching Jericho and hitting the tombstone is a spot he does with everyone, but it always looks good. Pitbull denting a plastic trashcan on Jericho sounds stupid but it was done with such contempt that I liked it. I also liked Jericho's counter of the press slam into a rana and that leading to his diving dropkick and inside out splash was a pretty smart transition. Jericho's control segment was brief and not terribly compelling, but I did like the way he took the hotshot cutoff from Pitbull. Pitbull 2 hits his top rope over head but this leads to Douglas coming out and a wild scene with Francine getting kissed and slammed, Shane hitting everyone with the TV title and Pitbull 1 coming out in a sling to make the save. Back in the ring there is a really great sequence with a lionsault, into tombstone attempt, into reverse tombstone, into escape of tombstone, ending in a sick German from Jericho to Pibull 2. jericho hit the top rope rana for the pin. I would have liked this a whole fucking lot without the Douglas run-in though that didn't effect the outcome and didn't ruin the match. Still worth a nomination.
December 15, 201014 yr comment_5460420 Chris Jericho vs. Pitbull #2 (6/29/96) - I thought this was a pretty solid match with Jericho breaking out his signature spots and Pitbull countering with big power moves. Still, it pales in comparison to other Jericho matches like the Shane Douglas handheld or the Scorpio match. I am mixed on including it though because this matchup is featured I nthe big 4-man Elimination tag and the extra-curricular stuff on the outside with Douglas broke up the flow of a pretty good Jericho match. The stretch run was pretty damn hot though. I’ll agree with the low-end but if someone feels strongly about putting it on the set then I won’t object.
January 24, 201114 yr comment_5462875 ECW World TV Title: "Lionheart" Chris Jericho © vs. Pitbull #2 (6/29/96) This was a really good match with the power vs. speed clash of styles with both men especially Jericho being good in their roles plus there were even some weapons used here which Jericho rarely used in ECW. This also had a big match feel as both men were hitting big spots trying to put the other away until Douglas showed up to kiss Francine and use the title belt to hit both men until Pitbull #1 neutralized him. The action went back to the ring and both men went to a nearfall run before Jericho would get the win. Even with Douglas coming out it didn't matter in the end and I liked this match a lot so I'm all for pushing this forward.
