Axl Rotten v. Spike Dudley

This does not have the story with Axl's arm being worked over like the other match of theirs I nominated, but it has most everything else. Axl is still a really good prick heel, Spike is still a really good spunky underdog. Axl picking up the chair and not using it, whiffing on a sit down splash, taunting Spike is all good stuff. Spike takes an insane over the ropes bump, hits a sweet rolling senton and gets some nearfalls with a diving clothesline, body press and Acid Drop. He goes up one final time and gets caught on the way down with a nasty clothesline for the finish. Good enough to get a look.

Little Guido v. Chris Chetti

The spot with Guido working a full ride for thirty seconds before Chetti reversed it was actually a pretty interesting spin on early throwaway matwork. Guido ends up hitting a nice running clothesline and does a cool spot that starts as a backslide and ends in a neckbreaker. After a brief comeback Chetti misses a flip splash and gets neckbreakered for the finish. This was good, but probably the weakest of their matches together.

Steve Williams v. Balls Mahoney

They play the "I don't respect you" slap game which builds to a cool spot with Doc hitting a corner charge and getting excited only to eat a clothesline and bump big to the floor. Nice punch battle in front of the first row. Balls really lays it in with an elbow drop for a nearfall and Doc presses out of it. Mid ring punch exchange ends with Williams hitting the ropes and getting caught with a powerslam. Balls with a Vader Bomb but Doc gets his foot on the rope. Doc catches Balls coming off the top with a dropkick. Doc goes for the triple short arm clothesline but Balls blocks the third. Williams hits a powerslam off the ropes and they botch the finish as Balls kicked out. Fun while it lasted.

Roadkill v. Bubba Dudley

Over before it starts. Roadkill stretchered out.

Mikey Whipwreck v. Rob Van Dam

And they call this match on account of a Mikey injury.

Sabu v. D-Von Dudley

This sucked. Several blown or shitty looking spots and it went on way too long. Post-match angle with Taz destroying Sabu who was trying to destroy Gertner was the best part of this.

Brian Lee/Chris Candido v. Eliminators

I normally don't care for the Elims offensive "stylings" but watching Candido bump around for them like he's Terry Funk was pretty entertaining and made that stuff work more than most. I also liked Lee coming in and just dumping Saturn with a chokeslam. Saturn finally gets isolated and goes FIP where he ends up eating a suplex onto a table that doesn't break and then takes an absurd leaping bump into the guardrail. Cool spot with Candido going for the top rope powerbomb only to get enziguri'ed off the top. Saturn's stupid escape of a chokeslam by falling onto Lee was unimpressive. Lee and Candido screw up a rocket launcher a bit. Candido accidentally dropkicks Lee who is left alone for the total elimination. Better than I could have expected, but really spotty and not a nomination. Post-match the Gangstas come out and they brawl.

Shane Douglas v. Pitbull 2

God this was so absurdly long. I liked some of this as Douglas offense looked sharp, but the finish sucked and these matches are so tedious.

Raven/Steve Richards v. Sandman/Tommy Dreamer

I think that was the match up. You literally couldn't tell. This was basically an excuse to hit Enter Sandman and a way to push the angle with all parties building into the Barely Legal.
