Danny Doring/Darren Drozdov v. Jerry Lynn/Chris Chetti

Well this had good structure at least. Not sure Chetti as FIP would have been my choice and the heel control segment was not compelling at all, but they tried.

New Jack v. D-Von Dudley

Jack gets ambushed before the bell but other than that this is the typical plunder heavy match from New jack albeit one that stays near or in the ring.

Spike Dudley/John Kronus v. FBI

Early stuff with Spike and Guido was solid, especially Spike's ride into a cradle pinning combination. Tracy backflips in in grandiose fashion and then teases a karate showdown with Kronus. The back and fourth with Tracy and Kronus was okay, but mostly disappointing. Spike come in and the shoving match with Smothers is pretty fun, though I hated the way Spike basically used the Acid drop as a transition move to help clean house. Spike with a nice vaulting dive off of Kronus back onto the FBI. Match gets good when Spike goes FIP as he sells his ass off for the FBI and they bring some fun double team offense, including a few things I've never seen out of them before. Kronus hot tag kind of sucked and the finish was disappointing. Really this just made you wish for a Smothers v. Spike match to emerge.

Bam Bam Bigelow v. Bubba Dudley

Well this did have a nice blade job from Bammer, a pretty hot crowd and the feel of a big match at times. The problem - aside from a shitty blown spot near the finish - is that this could have and should have been a big man slugfest and really wasn't. Neither guy seemed to want to work in full speed and there really was nothing about this one that jumps out as special or interesting.

Chris Candido/Lance Storm v. Balls Mahoney/Axl Rotten v. Sabu/Rob Van Dam

Maybe I am just in a foul mood today but I fucking hated this. Never ending match with no body looking particularly good, no real build, and not even any super dynamic spots to make it worth your while.

Tommy Dreamer v. Justin Credible

Fairly fun brawl. The run-in train at the end was over the top, but I actually liked the chaos with the multiple people running around, Credible getting slingshotted into chairs and dragged around a lunch counter, et. Entertaining at least.

Big Dick Dudley v. Sandman

This is one of those WTF matches? I mean really who the fuck wanted to see this and why was it booked. It goes a few short minutes and the only thing of value in it is Sandman's rana off the top for the finish. Bizarre.

Too Cold Scorpio v. Shane Douglas

This saved a show that prior to this was a total waste of time. Opening mat exchange was really great as they worked some great leverage escapes around with armbar as a base and smoothly transitioned into a test of strength spot with some cool bridge outs from Douglas and a diving Scorp reversal. Scorp getting caught with the double knees as the transition to a control segment from Douglas was a good fit and I thought Douglas did a good job heeling and keeping things interesting. There were some fun cut offs in this and I liked how Scorp's big offensive run was more of a flurry reaction, than his typical series of big moves as it felt a little different. Shane took a nice face plant bump right before the finish and they ended up going with a belly to belly off the top as a counter for the finish. It didn't look all that great (more hip tossish than suplexy to be honest), but I still thought it was a solid finish and a good match.
