Axl Rotten v. Spike Dudley

Axl doing "talk to the hand" stall jobs in the early part of this made me chuckle as did his ring length chucking of Spike. Sweet heel spot as Axl rakes Spike's eyes on a test of strength spot then complains of a hairpull! Semi-strange spot with Axl lunging at Spike after getting kicked in his butt, but it actually looked okay as Spike took him down. Really cool sequence of reversals follows including a cool spot where Spike does a headlock takedown from an Acid Drop position. He ends up charging at Axl off of a break and takes a huge over the top back body drop. Axl walks around ringside and teases using weapons but throws them down every time which naturally gets him mega heat fromt he ECW mutants. Crowd starts chanting "boring" and Axl dances around and openly encourages it. Axl locks on a chinlock and jaws with fans that he will "sit here all night long." Spike makes a come back off of a missed Axl splash and hits the Acid Drop for a nearfall. Follows it up with a cross body for another nearfall and a missle dropkick for another. One final trip up and Axl hits him with a nasty lariat for the finish. I thought this was the second best of their matches, but a good bit better than the two low end nominations.

Roadkill v. Chris Chetti

Gertner's pre-match bit here was really funny. This was a good basic match. Both guys had decent looking rookie offense and worked hard. Chetti's diving leg drop finish was actually really good too.

Super Nova v. Chris Candido

There was an opening counter of a top rope back suplex that was somewhat sloppy but other than that this had some awesome stuff in it. Nova took a fucking crazy face planting bump on the guardrail off of a plancha. Candido's control segment was cool as he threw some stiff blows, and they did some great teased comebacks. Loved Candido just avoiding certain counter attempts and sort of workign a "master of ring positioning" gimmick in this one. Really liked the top rope rana and loved the sequence with Nova hitting a diving dropkick but getting caught with a sick looking German for a nearfall. Nova's nearfall off of a superplex felt like a token, but other than that the body of this was really good and the finish with Candido hanging from the rafters as he hit his top rope powerbomb ruled.

Eliminators v. Little Guido/Davey Morton

Elims are super over in this and the crowd goes ballistic every time they hit a double team or big offensive move. Guido is bumping around like crazy. Interesting to see a young Kid Kash here thrown into the role of Guido partner and he pretty much gets steamrolled. Fun squash.

There are serious problems with the disc at this point and it damn near impossible to watch. Could be a scratch of some sort I guess. Either way the second half of this show is virtually impossible to watch as a result.
