Posted December 16, 201014 yr comment_5460443 Long Taz in ring promo Chris Chetti v. Axl Rotten This is worked as Chetti the quick wrestler v. Axl the brawler. Ref impedes Axl's ability to use weapons thus helping Chetti establish control. Some good stuff here actually and Axl wins with a Dominater out of nowhere. Not quite a nomination. Little Guido v. Spike Dudley Fast paced explosion early ends in a great sequence where Guido face plants on a plancha but responds by back body dropping Spike on the hardwood floor. Guido takes over as a result and is taunting the crowd and really dishing out the offense including a nice gordbuster, some sweet chops, a sharp knee to Spike's face that he sells perfectly, et. Spike ends up hitting a nice sunset flip for a nearfall but gets clotheslined on his head for his trouble. Guido continues to egg on the crowd and things are looking really awesome when they badly botch a hurancanrana hope spot from Spike. Stretch run after that was fine, but it was a bad fuck up that took a borderline match out of contention. Devon Storm v. Bubba Dudley Bubba leads the crowd in a "faggot" chant pre-match. Opening mat work was decent looking. Match is moving along fairly nicely when they fuck up an over the top bump from Bubba. Storm hit a nice senton but ends up taking a huge bump into the crowd not once but twice. Bubba just walks around beating him with Sign Guy's sign. Storm comes back on offense and suddenly this match feels really fucking long. God the longer this went the worse it got too. No thanks. Davey Morton v. Steve Richards Opening rope running sequence was really awesome and featured a cool monkey flip spot and then counter off an attempt from Richards, plus a nice springboard back elbow to Richards and a run of good looking ranas for nearfalls from Morton. Richards goes on offense following a low blow and works his BWO Nash tribute spots with a snake eyes and a side suplex for nearfalls. Richards tunes up the band and goes for a superkick but Morton ducks and hits one of his own for a nearfall. Morton ends up going for another rana but gets caught with a powerbomb for the finish. This is borderline but I'm going to error on the side of "no" here as I can't see it making the final cut under any circumstances. Brian Lee v. Louie Spicolli Spicolli threw a mean punch at one point and I liked the bump he took on the table suplex. Ridiculous spot with Lee up in the DVD position and he manages to chokeslam the ref from that angle but still gets hit with the DVD. Spicolli tends to the ref but gets chokeslammed for the finish. The finish probably looked a lot better on paper than it really was. Pitbull 2 v. D-Von Dudley Loved the early impact of some of these spots. Also enjoyed that they actually had a well structured match with build to the highspots, a meaningful blade job from Pitbull, and a nice comeback spot. D-Von was at the stage of his career when he still had some pretty decent offense so his control segment didn't seem tedious. Solid for what it was. Shane Douglas v. Tommy Dreamer Shane ambushed Tommy here early. Dreamer came back with a dragon screw of all things and went to work on the leg of Shane. Dreamer ends up charging the corner but gets DDT'ed and then piledriven. Shane strangely starts working over Dreamer's leg too and they do a spot where Francine gets her vagina groped by Tommy after she gets involved in the match. Beulah breaks up a figure four attempt and Tommy ends up coming back shortly after. Tommy hits a DDT but Francine breaks up the fall which leads to a catfight. Shane hits his own DDT for the finish. Fun match. Raven/Eliminators v. Sandman/Gangstas Well this was a mess. Not enjoyable on any level.
