Candido's spinning headscissors looked awesome and man did he go splat on the inside out vertical suplex. Storm actually hits a really nice looking springboard clothesline. Love the way Candido sold Storm's powerslam as he wrenched his entire back forward before collapsing. This got really your turn, my turn but it was good stuff. Candido hit a sweet looking top rope frankensteiner and a nice diving headbutt where he actually sold the impact as well. Candido goes for his top rope powerbomb but Storm leaps down and ends up catching Candido with a powerbomb when he jumps at him. Ref bump and Shane hits the ring with a chain. After several counters Candido hits the chain punch for the finish. I am passing this through because I think others might like this more than I did, though I do think it was a good match.

"No Gimmicks Needed" Chris Candido vs. Lance Storm (8/28/98)

Storm's brawling on the floor was pretty bad and he was just spotty in general here. Candido on the other hand was pretty damn good as he looked crisp on his offense especially his aerial offense and on his selling he was just as good making Storm look on his level. The match would soon go my turn your turn with both men hitting big spots for nearfalls until Franchise ran out with a chain that Candido would eventually use to win. This was as good of a Lance match you would probably get at this time and Candido was solid here. This is a low-end pick.
