Posted December 19, 201014 yr comment_5460634 This is clipped on the tv and I thought it may have been heavily clipped but this was just a really short match. Man the big spots in this looked great, especially Crazy's huge early bump and the Norte dive that followed it. Crazy hits a fucking space flying tiger drop and then an overhead slam and moonsault on the floor! Norte does some really sweet armdrag exchanges and Crazy celebrates a reversal but ends up getting face planted and eats an insane twisting flip dive on the floor. Cool teaser spots on some roll ups during the stretch run. Also worth noting the strikes have been fucking brutal in this. Crazy goes for a twisting body press but misses only for Norte to miss his follow up splash attempt. Norte with a super fast spike rana for a nearfall and goes for a second but Crazy drops him with a powerbomb for the finish. This was a shitload of fun.
February 14, 201114 yr comment_5464503 Super Crazy vs. Antifaz del Norte (12/26/98) Jesus did these two go all out here or what. These guys weren't afraid to try to kill themselves on dives and beat the hell out of each other with strikes all while the NYC mutants chanted boring and show your tits to women in the crowd. This wasn't a long match but it was action packed for the time it got with both men looking impressive. I dug this a bunch and it moves forward easily.
May 27, 201114 yr comment_5471998 Super Crazy vs. Antifaz del Norte (12/26/98) - Like the last match, this will be what ADN brings to the table. Early on, he goes toe to toe with Crazy and has a sweet plancha. Crazy doesn’t want to be outdone, so he goes for the cartwheel, flippity plancha. Nice pinning sequence later on. I liked the stretch run but I never felt like Norte was going to pull off the upset.
May 31, 201114 yr comment_5472216 THIS SHOULD BE ON THE SET! Will.... say goodbye to something else and add this Killer match that by all means belongs. White hot death and the Queens crowd went apeshit for it. <3 this!
May 31, 201114 yr Author comment_5472258 Heh. Well I'll say this, I think for balls to the wall highlight reel wrestling this is better than the Hidaka v. Crazy match that made the set but I know you like that match a lot too Rob. Honestly the biggest problem with constructing this set to me is that you get to a point where the relative quality between what made the cut and what didn't is virtually identical. There are a lot of things that COULD have made the set but the key is that the very best stuff did and most everyone that deserved to be represented in some fashion makes at least one appearance. In fact the only guys I feel bad about leaving off the set are Antifaz who had a pretty fun - albeit short - run and Kid Kash
May 31, 201114 yr comment_5472259 Rob and I had an argument about Kid Kash last night... good times He said some of those additional SC matches (JC v Sasuke, Funk v Douglas) are dogshit so I want to rewatch those before publically releasing the set.
June 1, 201114 yr Author comment_5472263 JC v. Sasuke is a lot better than Hidaka v. Crazy too In hindsight I wish we would have agreed to put on that Swinger v. Kash match JUST so Kash would have had one match on the set. But realistically there is no Kash match that I could see making my top seventy-five, if not top hundred. Kash was Roadkillesque in that he was often a fun guy to watch, who got his spots in and was entertaining but didn't have any defining match.
