Posted December 21, 201014 yr comment_5460789 FBI v. Hollywood Nova/Blue Meanie This has got to be one of the very first match ups between these teams. Really liked the early spot with Guido holding onto the hair of Nova off the headlock and the subsequent highspots. Holy shit Meanie hits a shoulderblock off the ropes and Smothers does the most absurd overbump I've ever seen rolling under the ropes, over a table and then wildly onto several chairs. Ridiculous spot with Meanie getting winded after an offensive barrage leads to Nova getting worked over by the FBI. Just a really fun FBI heat segment on Nova with some different stuff including a nice Guido dropkick and a really cool three point stance running clothesline from Smothers. Great spot to set up the hot tag as Guido face plants on a missed rocket launcher and then Smothers dives headfirst into the turnbuckle. Meanie ends up hitting a huge moonsault on Smothers but the ref is distracted and Rich comes in with a chain and hits Meanie in the head leading to the finish. As always this was was good shit. Battle Royal This was fun but not something for the set. Shane Douglas v. Steve Richards This was good despite some really overbooked shit with Candido running out and Rude taking care of him. Starts with Richards working over the arm and though it doesn't go much of anywhere it was a decent kickstart to the match. After that though the match really kicked into gear and had some strong, strong segments. There was a really nasty looking punching segment on the floor that looked great. I really liked Richards as an FIP and Douglas in control as he threw some nice suplexes, hit a sweet piledriver and generally looked the part of the veteran "star" to Richards "up and coming star on the rise." Richards come back off the superplex was well done and I really liked the way they built to the big spots after with roll ups bulding to the side walk slam, building to the really good powerbomb. Richards goes for a superkick but Douglas blocks it and hits a belly-to-belly. Raven shows up and breaks up the count and the DDT's Richards costing Douglas the match by DQ. I can't believe I'm saying this but I liked the finish as it leaves you wondering if Richards would have kicked out or not and sort of drags out the story of whether or not he is serious player on top or not. Pitbulls v. Rob Van Dam/Sabu The opening stuff was a lot of fun as these guys just start off throwing bombs and going crazy. Sabu's table dive was well set up and looked really sick. Sabu hits a reverse victory roll off the top and it's over. Weird. D-Von/Big Dick Dudley v. Sabu/Rob Van Dam v. Eliminators Previous match flows right into this. Boy Dick Dudley and Sabu audibly calling spots and then executing them piss poorly was bad. Elims randomly show up turning this into a three way. Ugh. This seemed to go on forever and other than Kowalski coming out at the end this was a waste of time. Axl Rotten v. Balls Mahoney Very similiar to their other match. This had more entertaining crowd brawling and a funny spot with Axl throwing a water bottle at Balls head which Balls ducked and then decked him with a frying pan. Same bizarre flash pin finish off of a random middle rope elbow. Raven v. Spike Dudley Spike outwrestling stuff was nice early and he took some nice bumps for Raven's sorry shit but god is Raven an uninteresting motherfucker. Probably as good as it could have been considering who was involved but fuck Raven. Louie Spicolli v. Chris Chetti This sucked so fucking bad and Spicolli was the worst of the two going super chinlocking and just looking lost throughout. Sad really.
