Posted December 29, 201014 yr comment_5461149 Greg Gagne/Steve O v. Nick Bockwinkle/Ray Stevens JIP. Bock is getting worked over hard here with Gagne pulling up on nearfalls early. Nice double dropkick nearfall from the faces. The ref knocking Stevens to the floor to set up the run to the finish was interesting. Also Gagne's diving double stomp to Bock's face was sick. This was fun but too short and not enough shown. Michael Hayes v. Rick Martel Man this starts off really hot. Hayes has some nice offense, including a really cool looking elbow drop and keeps wearing Martel down with a sleeper. Cool sequence with Martel locking on a sleeper but getting rammed into the to rope, but catching Hayes with a slam off the top and then a suplex. Hayes misses a huge kick and goes flying which sets up Martel's Boston Crab. Roberts distracts Martel and Hayes ends up "winning the title" with a foreign object shot. EXTRA Greg Gagne/Sgt. Slaughter v. Ray Stevens/Nick Bockwinkle This was basically the finish only of a wild match. Pretty fun. Hulk Hogan v. Nick Bockwinkle JIP. Basically the finish only shown as Heenan gets Bock DQ'ed. Nick Bockwinkle v. Verne Gagne JIP. Again this is really just a finish with trading sleepers and Verne winning clean which at this point in his career seems absurd. Shiek Adnan Al-Kaissie v. Nick Bockwinkel JIP. Last few minutes of a pretty hot brawl with Bock getting DQ'ed on a chairshot. Nick Bockwinkel promo with Mean Gene on Adnan. Nick Bockwinkel v. Shiek Adnan Al-Kaissie JIP. This is basically the ending of a match again and what is shown is really awesome with Bock coming back from the dead and hitting some nice dropkicks and Adnan getting DQ'ed off of a crotching on the top rope. Post-match there is chaos like there is on every AWA show. Nick Bockwinkel/Bobby Heenan promo on Adnan to set up his No DQ match. Shiek Adnan Al-Kaissie v. Battle Royal We have this on the previous Classics disc. Jimmy Garvin v. Rick Martel JIP. Man Martel was good at this period. He is working FIP when this starts and Garvin chunks him over the ropes to the floor. When Martel comes in fired up he is really fucking fired up. Martel ends up hitting his slingshot splash for a nearfall but Garvin gets his foot on the bottom rope. Garvin scores a pinfall with a foreign object shot but officials reverse the decision. John Nord interview. Nick Bockwinkel v. Greg Gagne JIP. I enjoyed what was shown as we got some nice dropkicks and a cool sleeper sequence with Greg escaping Bock's version with a roll through. Greg won clean with a sunset flip out of nowhere. Not enough shown to rate really. Legion Of Doom v. Jerry Blackwell/Sgt. Slaughter JIP. This picks up with Animal getting splashed and then powerslammed for nearfalls. Slaughter comes in and locks on the Cobra Clutch. Adnan ends up running in and attacking Slaughter. Strange as Animal looked llike he was working an FIP but was really a heel. Post-match was totally nuts with everyone brawling. Hulk Hogan v. Mr. Saito/David Shultz JIP. Strange to see this handicapped booking. Hogan breaks a Scorpion and fires back but the heels get DQ'ed shortly after this. Post-match Hogan clears the ring. Ken Patera/Jerry Blackwell v.
