Mad Dog Vachon/Baron Von Raschke v. Jerry Blackwell/Adnan Al-Kaissie

This is the FULL match with pre-match angle allowing faces to tape their fist and the entire post-match riot. This ist he version that needs to make the set.

Nick Bockwinkel v. Rick martel

JIP but I don't think that much is missing. Opens up with Bock eating a bunch of Martel highspots and fleeing to the floor. Martel slams him back into the ring for a nearfall. They end up working a really lengthy knuckle lock spot which sounds terrible but I liked it as they were both feeding off the crowd and it built to Martel getting bumped to the floor and Bock taking over. Martel keeps battling up to the apron but keeps getting drilled back down. He finally makes it back to the ring and fires up and it's Bock's turn to fly around for some bumps off Martel's big moves. Martel hits a nice piledriver which really sends the crowd into a frenzy and gets a good nearfall. Bock is begging off like crazy and really seems desperate to survive and ends up barely kicking out of Martel's slingshot splash. Martel follows up with a nice headscissors and charges the corner for a splash but Bock moves and Martel hits the turnbuckle hard leading to a Bock pinfall. Good match, with the stretch run being pretty great. Martel was an incredible babyface at this point.

Ken Patera/Bobby Heenan/Jesse Ventura v. Hulk Hogan/High Flyers

Heenan is absolutely livid with Okerland during ring introductions and threatens to hit him which is awesome. Heel charge the faces but get dispatched. Hogan snatches off Jesse's doe rag and holy shit is Hogan over as he goes to work on Ventura's arm and the crowd goes infuckingsane. Patera comes in and gets bumped around by the babyfaces for his trouble. Heels end up isolating Brunzell in the corner and of course this is when The Brain comes in to get in his shots. Brunzell ends up reversing a whip into the corner an Heenan takes a huge bump. Gagne tags in and pulls Heenan away from the heel corner and then backs him into the babyface corner. heenan with a hilarious overbump off of a chop but he ends up getting a cheap tag off to Patera and the heels isolate Gagne. Jesse chokes Gagne while Hogan bashes Patera and Heenan's heads together before the ref can chase him out of the ring. They actually work a really compelling FIP built around bearhugs, a Ventura overhead backbreaker and a Heenan front facelock of all things. Then Gagne gets creamed with a delayed atomic drop after nearly getting the hot tag. Good hope spot with Greg back body dropping out of a piledriver and this leads to him sprinting across the ring on hand and knee and knocking over the ref for the hot tag. Brunzell comes in and lights up Jesse and locks him in the figure four but Heenan comes in and stomps him right in the fucking face. Patera comes in and hits a delayed vertical for a nearfall but Hogan ends up tagging in. He slingshots Heenan in. Really fun finish as Heenan is standing in the middle of the ring and drops down to avoid being smashed in between his partners who are being whipped in his direction, but as he gets up Hogan takes him down and hits the leg drop for the finish. This falls under the "fun as fuck" category.

Interview segment with Heenan. Gagne slaps him in the face when Heenan doesn't announce a mystery third partner for a tag.

Ridiculous in ring promo with Buck Zumhofe.

Jerry Lawler v. John Tolos

JIP and this is a handheld and tv match spliced together. What is shown is a lot of fun as you get a wild Lawler bump over the top, Lawler dropping the strap, and a piledriver finish.

Joyce Grable/Wendy Richter v. Judy Martin/Velvit McIntyre

Sick back body drop/powerbomb finish and that's damn near all of this that was shown.

Brief clip of a Wahoo match with Lawler on commentary.

High Flyers/Rick Martel v. Blackjack Lanza/Ken Patera/Jesse Ventura

The early going of this is really wild and chaotic until Ventura blindsides Greg setting up his FIP run. Heat section is not terribly long but effective and the Martel/Lanza punch exchange was cool. Martel ends up going for a dropkick but misses and Lanza tags in to Patera who hits a really sick looking elbow drop for a nearfall. Martel tags out to Brunzell after a bit and the match rbeaks down into chaos with heenan passing a weapon to Patera who ends up using it after taking a barrage of offense from Brunzell, scoring the pin in the process. I liked this, but I thought the chaotic spots were a bit too chaotic and a fair amount of this appears to have been cut.

Post-match in ring interview with the babyfaces.

Hulk Hogan v. Nick Bockwinkel

This had the feel of a true heavyweight, clash of the titans match and was worked that way. Both guys appeared to be firing on all cylinders and were throwing desperation bombs . Really loved Hogan in this as he was straddling the fence nicely between vulnerable babyface and monster babyface. Also his big offense looked really good, especially his elbow drop and powerslam which got a really great nearfall. Hogan missing the leg drop was a great spot and Bock responding by throwing these last ditch effort blows that looked like they were being tossed out to balance himself as much as they were to inflict damage was really great. Cool sequence as Bock chops down Hogan but then goes for a slam and just collapses with Hogan getting a great nearfall. Hogan has Bock really and hits another strong elbow drop for a really slow counted nearfall with Hogan given an awesome "fuck you" look to the ref as he circles out of the way. Hogan charges the corner but Bock moves and Bock locks on admittedly sloppy sleeper. Normally the sloppiness of this sleeper would piss me off but here it works as it comes across as the desperate attempt of a defeated man to put away an unbeatable giant. Bock gets slung over the top onto the ref to break it but goes back to it again, this time the ref gets squashed in the corner. Bock goes for another attempt but Hogan leans forward sending him over the top to the floor. Hogan brings him in and hits a suplex and then the leg drop for what should have been the most important title change in AWA history. Instead they do the screwjob Dusty finish with Blackburn reversing the decision because Hogan had thrown Bock over the top. This is a famous and very good match and should make the set for both reasons. Pretty sure this is about as complete a version as there is.

Mad Dog Vachon/Verne Gagne v. Jerry Blackwell/Adnan Al-Kaissie

We have this on Blackwell #5. This may be slightly more complete and has a fun post-match interview with the faces.

Ken Patera/Jerry Blackwell v. Steve O/Brad Rheingans

This was five minutes of awesome with Steve O selling his ass off, some cool spots from Rheingans, an awesome airplane spin spot and a Blackwell splash for the pin. Doubt this exists in full but this was awesome while it lasted. Mad Dog saves the faces from heel attack post-match.

Taped Fist Match: Crusher Blackwell & Sheik Adnan Kaissey vs. Baron Von Raschke & Mad Dog Vachon (3/13/83)

The fans were molten hot for Raschke & Vachon getting taped up. This wasn't pretty but it is exactly what you wanted here as guys were beating each other's asses and Blackwell was bumping like hell with the fans going crazy as the blood was being shed. Sheik using the cast on Baron allowing Blackwell to cover for the win was a hot finish as the crowd was extremely angry then Mad Dog got his ass kicked afterwards until Verne made the save to a huge pop. Crusher would then attack Verne from behind and the heels pounded on Verne setting up the Super Sunday match and starting a riot where fans were attacking the heels on their way to the back. Wild scene to end a wild match and this is a fairly easy nomination.

AWA World Heavyweight Title: Nick Bockwinkel © vs. Rick Martel (3/13/83)

JIP but not by much by the way it looks. Martel was on fire to start the match taking it to Bock with high impact moves but Bock would slow it down with a test of strength which the crowd was really into because of the wrestlers' actions. Bock would chunk Martel to the floor and kept taking shots at him as he tried to come back but he would finally get back in there and fired up like crazy on Bock throwing some great dropkicks followed up by a piledriver. Martel then goes nuts stomping on Bock before hitting him with a backbreaker for a nearfall. Bock is great here selling and begging off before Martel gets another nearfall with his springboard diving body press. Martel continues taking it to Bock before missing a wild dive into the corner hitting all turnbuckle allowing Bock to roll him up to win. This was a blast as Martel looked awesome and Bock was Bock. Another fairly easy nomination.

The Hi-Flyers ("Jumpin" Jim Brunzell & Greg Gagne) & "Incredible" Hulk Hogan vs. Ken Patera, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan (3/13/83)

JESUS the crowd is nuts for Hogan here. Heenan getting pissed at Mean Gene as he is doing intros then attacking Greg before the bell was hilarious. The faces dominate early especially Hogan who was a god here. Brunzell would eventually get trapped by the heels and he would work FIP meaning Heenan would finally come in to get his shots in and this was a fun section as of course Brunzell would tag in Greg as Heenan took a big bump into the corner. Greg then worked over Heenan who slid to the wrong corner where he got attacked by Hogan & Brunzell before Greg would get himself trapped in the heels corner so he would work FIP. Greg takes a beating and is very good at selling his pain and his will to get the hot tag which he crawled furiously to Brunzell who came in a house of fire but again he would get caught by the heels who got some big shots in until finally Hogan got the tag back in and he went wild on the heels especially Heenan who ended up eating the legdrop for the pinfall. This was great fun and another easy nomination.

This is followed by a bunch of stuff I've already seen.
