Posted May 30, 200520 yr comment_2326240 Continuing along the theme I began yesterday. This time we have more to work with, as 205 MLB players have come from Canada. 1. Ferguson Jenkins 2. Larry Walker 3. Jeff Heath 4. Tip O'Neill 5. Terry Puhl 6. John Hiller 7. Jack Graney 8. George Selkirk 9. Matt Stairs 10. Pete Ward The most intriguing thing here is the top of the list. Ferguson Jenkins earned 323 win shares in his career. Larry Walker currently has 301. Walker has an excellent chance at challenging Fergie's place atop the list. Matt Stairs could pass Selkirk within a week. Corey Koskie is seven win shares away from reaching the top ten. Jeff Francis, Rich Harden and Eric Bedard could climb onto the list in the distant future.
May 31, 200520 yr comment_2335354 Yeah, that list is definitely going to change in the next few years. Just the pitching that the country has coming up, with the guys you mentioned, plus young hitters like Mourneau, most of the guys towards the bottom are going to fall off. I think some of it has to do with them being young when the Jays were in their heyday. Assuming everyone available plays, the World Cup team could be pretty good.
